We played a high line in the first half, very effectively, but we abandoned it in the second. Did our players lose pace at half time? Did they become worse defenders? No, they bottled it and what did the manager do? **** all. He said after the game that we went too deep and invited pressure, so why wasn't he screaming at the players to move forward, why did he do nothing to change tactics that were quite obviously failing?
Shirley if you are going to sit back you go three at the back, bring Growshitski on and counter attack?
If the defence is the weakest part of your team, then sitting back is always likely to fail, as it has numerous times already this season. I'd have brought Grosicki on early in the second half, when it was blinding obvious that we needed to give them something to think about and hold them further up the pitch (particularly as their centre back No.12 looked ****ing hopeless).
I think this is the problem. When you have previously managed/coached league champions you are on the front foot. You attack teams and Slutsky is good at such tactics but his defensive tactics combined with a lack of quality in defensive positions is the problem. The 3 Chelsea players are not good enough IMO, Max is not a full back and we have injured full backs. Defending is clearly our problem and I would like to see him have the chance to work with better defenders after the transfer window. To be fair you could bring in a complete new back four after Xmas?
I didn't see much evidence of a high line. But there's also more than one team involved, Wednesday were in the ascendency in the second half, so game dynamics change continuously. We didn't sit deep because we felt like it, we sat deep because Wednesday pressed us into areas they know we don't play well in. I will say when they are in the final third most of our team are guilty of ball watching and not winning the first or second ball. Having just buried my 3rd close relative in 3 years. City I'm simply not bothered about at present, shame as we're probably a decent LB, RB and CB short of a team capable of a play off place. Far more enjoyment coaching my lads football team that have just enjoyed a 68% win ratio in a division 2 leagues higher than last season after getting promoted last year.
Help me with the proper English colloquialism here. On Tuesday one will be able to say "Slutsky has done one." Can we presently say "Slutsky is about to do one?" And during the expected announcement is he "doing one?" This is a vitally important matter!
It says here its by mutual agreement. http://www.espn.co.uk/football/hull...ky-set-to-leave-club-after-form-slump-sources
More importantly it was also reported on ESPN: "Hull City manager Leonid Slutsky is poised to leave the club by the end of Monday, sources close to both parties have told ESPN FC."
Dont think it says by mutual agreement, just that "sources close to both parties have told ESPN FC." I therefore expect it will be another payout. So if this is the day who is the new Coach? as I expect that they will already have someone lined up surely? The club would not make yet another mistake by not having a replacement lined up already would they?
It's Pep.....fancy getting beaten at home (at half time) by David Moyes...!!!!....something we know only too well..
2 things. 1. It's not just the defence that isn't up to it. CM isn't either, and Slutz is at least right about missing a certain sort of player upfront too. 2. I suspect terms have finally been agreed with Adkins. Once again, things should have been oh so different. Just f.uck off Allams. #AllamsOut
Lmao .. do you think by putting 'the end' at the finish of your post that makes you right ? Carry on believing that .. I have my opinion and yes it is the defence AND the rest of the team that lose their shape and are not organised .. that is down to work in a training field to sort out.
