A video shop....haha...now that's a blast from the past. Asian uncle? Half of it must have had Bollywood stuff on the shelves lol...video shop.
I worked in a video shop back in the day. Best job ever. 11-8, 7 days a week, they got **** all trade as Blockbuster were undercutting everyone (I was delighted when those ****ers finally went pop), £3 an hour and a little bit of a poster selling business on the side. c.£200 a week cash in hand and pub friendly working hours. I also used to get chatted up by the local single mums who just wanted a no commitment shag. I was 18 and thought they'd eat me alive so stuck to girls my own age It's a charity shop now. I don't work there anymore.
28 Days Later is a brilliant film, one of my favourite of all time THe Evild Dead remake is decent, as are the originals 28 Weeks later was okay as well THe Exorcisim of Emily Rose I found interesting and enjoyed \the Exorcist for its time was ground breaking, they used the subliminal advert tictac but instead of the Cola logo or a box of pop corn they used her demon face and thats why people left the cinema because it was scary! That version got banned I think but is free to view now, ive seen it and it is scary Not into torture films and all that but think Hostel had a good believable story to it of rich business men torturing kidnapped folk for a fee in the middle of nowhere There are more lower key ones ive seen which have been brilliant, was watching a Dark Song but had to go out so taped the rest of it and that seemed good Blair WItch 2016 (the proper sequel to the first one) is good as well
Never been a fan of the hand-cam horror genre but they clearly hold an appeal judging by people’s responses here. Pontypool is strangely atmospheric and all the drama played out is in the mind of the watcher and is highly recommended by critics.
