I aren't even that big of a fan , I don't think he's worth 10m , but as has been mentioned as a fan , 15 million is no use to me on a Saturday afternoon when there is no decent replacement . I'd be happy for anybody in our squad to go for 10m if that cash was re invested in 2 solid players , but when it is just going in Ehabs back pocket it is no use.

I bet Ehab is looking through new yacht brochures as we speak.

Not really, quite average players can even go for 10 million now. Fairness doesn't come into it either, all the prices are ridiculous. Plus we have many needs and that factors into it all. Plus any further weakening of the team is another step away from being a contender and the 100 million plus for being in the top flight. The overall perspective is what is important. We can turn down money.

Clucas is an average midfielder so I would say £10m would be the right price, though in the transfer market at the moment I would want around £15m

And before people get all upset about the term "average", take your black and amber tinted glasses off.
He is a good tackler, can pass, is very fit and hit a ball. However put him in a top 10 premiership team he becomes of an average standard, he doesn't possess masses of pace or trickery, doesn't score double figures.
If he was anything more then average he would be in the England squad regularly

That said, he is a key player for us, and we would struggle to replace him given the owners reluctance to te-invest.

I'd say he is definitely above average and young with huge potential.

He is not young, he is 26. There is still development and potential there, but will that be a massive rise?

The term average means "of typical ammount", Clucas is the typical midfielder, he has stamina, can pass, can read the game. But is he better then the average midfielder in the premiership, no, are there many similar skilled midfielder in the premiership, yes
    Therefore he is average

He needs surgery on a persistent ankle injury, so we probably are in for him. <doh>

You don't know what Sam would be like in a better team? But I can imagine he'd do well? Maybe a reverse of how John terry has done in a poor team?

Never get people commenting that Clucas is young, he's 27 next month.

Re a forward, Zohore would be great but I wouldn't fancy Wells. Doesn't score enough

    Slutsky on believing and Zohore
I must believe because I don’t have another option.

I can’t believe on Zohore, but I can’t believe especially if he has some offer for Premier League. i don’t expect to go in for him again. I am realistic.

I am thinking about players in my team now.

Transfers don’t just depend on me but I continue to work with players we have a squad. Football rules dictate you can have seven players on the pitch. While we have more than seven players I believe.

A good time to sell Sam Ehab, might as well make our two central midfielders unavailable. Anyone in the U16's who can fill in?

****ing he'll that is Sunday league manager speak.

I remember been buttered up one Sunday morning on the phone by an old mate who ran a team. I fancied a game anyway but I let him flatter me for a bit. Oh ok then I'll play.
Great Chazz, can you bring your next door neighbour as well...

Sounds like he's come here in full knowledge of the situation.

As long as he has 7 players to field he's happy.
