Clubs will only be in the cart if the next TV deal goes massively backwards and they're sat with a massive debt on the balance sheet that suddenly looks unsustainable. The next TV deal could well go backwards, but not to the extent that will see clubs dropped immediately in the **** imo. The balloon won't pop, but there could well be a slow deflation, which will give clubs 3 years to cut their cloth accordingly.
Serie A side Fiorentina are interested in signing Liverpool winger Lazar Markovic this summer, with the Reds looking for a £16 million fee.
we will never get that especially from them unfortunately. Watford and someone else in prem will only pay 8.. i can't remember who it is. klopp is advertising him as "now fit" so he is advertising please bid.
Poor retort. You need to think about what you're actually trying to predict i.e. how far the current TV revenues would have to fall before it would cause a catastrophic outcome for the majority of PL clubs and in what timescale. Come back to me when you've done the maths.
Is that a similar argument to teams who get relegated from prem who get parachute payments that gives them a few years to sort their ****e out?
You taking the piss? Living in Milan, playing for one of the European power houses, on decent money and enjoying the sun and good shopping lifestyle etc. Yeah ****ing nightmare lol.
I have been to Milan. It's ****ing cold and misarable in autumn/winter and they are hardly a powerhouse at the moment, they just have a bit of history. I guess they will have Tuesday/wed/thurs off as they don't have European football
How long is the current TV deal? That's how long, as a minimum, that the gravy train will last unless Sky go bust. Fact is, the deal is driven by demand and as long as the Premier league has the demand...or increasing demand, this will not stop. Even through the worst global recession in our lifetimes (so far), the TV money increased. I see no (immediate) end to it. Only when the likes of all on here begin to think that football has been ruined by the money, will demand fall....
Can is tall, but he's mediocre, even dire at set-piece defending. I still blame him for Benteke's second goal against Palace. Windy and Lalla are not going to get their heads to too many crosses, and Hendo, whilst tall, isn't exactly going to shove the likes of Giroud, Carroll or Zlatan out the way. Funnily enough, one of the best, considering his size, was Lucas. Didn't have a lot going for him, but he fearless in putting his head in between the flying elbows.
It will only go bust in my opinion when clubs stop taking the piss with prices of fans who actually go to games. What we pay subscription to watch games on TV is **** all to the poor sods who make the effort to go to games. That's when I think it will burst personally.
Can someone explain to me the exact definition of "tapping up", because I think I must have it wrong. I keep reading reports that Coutinho has agreed terms with Barca, but LFC have said he's not for sale.
