It's not about who is the better striker, it's about which striker will fit into each team's tactical plan the best.

Lacazette might not be who Jose wanted at all, doesn't mean he's not well suited for Liverpool, and vice versa with Lukaku.

We'll only know at the end of the season, saying other teams' signings are poor just looks like [HASHTAG]#fear[/HASHTAG], and to be honest we should not be comparing ourselves to LFC but to Chelsea and Man City as it's the title we should be challenging for.

Yup, having a poacher suits Arsenal much more then Man Utd - no idea why he was even linked in the first place tbh.

I see Rooney's now a **** and ****, having resigned for Everton. He was always a **** and received way to much credit for his talent. Funny how you all loved him up until now.

Doesn't becoming your record goalscorer mean anything?

It does mean that he'll be respected by most. But he won't be remembered with affection like Cantona, Giggs, Scholes, Robson. and other greats.

He stained his copybook by his ruthless exploitation of the club's position. A selfish act which I can't imagine any of the above like Cantona, Robson Giggs or scholes would have even thought of.

A lot of us were telling your boys that at the time, but none of you were having any of it then (I don't mean 'you' specifically, but in the general sense).

You only need to look at the stats - when Rooney was earning the most - he was playing his worst. That says it all. The fact that, along the way, he broke the scoring record is incidental. Look at Ronaldo, he earns mega-bucks but he keeps himself in peak physical condition to ensure he plays his best. Rooney's smoking and boozing (and obviously poor diet) were making an already difficult task, even more difficult as time went on. He contributed less and less while taking more and more from the club.

So basically, Rooney took the fkin p**s!

One player you won't be signing is James Rodriguez - has joined Bayern on loan.

Januzaj to Real Sociedad for £9.8M looks to be done soon. He was given Giggs's #11 shirt as his heir to being voted the ****tiest player in a **** Sunderland team - how far has he fallen.
