Not quite Rise Hall, but it suited us...and our budget
Had a few really good nights there, that one included

    Agreed

    Agreed.

Edit: Might want to wait for some feedback from the lasses on here. There probably won't be a wedding if you follow our advice.

Wedding was at St. Johns Newland corner of Clough Road. I remember coming out of Gardeners with my best man half cut. A fire engine went past as we got in the Roller and the crew all waved and took the piss.

Wold Top Brewery's an interesting wedding venue. The wife's nephew had his reception there last year.

I was driving so didn't have a drink but everyone else got hammered.

    Lambo Towers.

His missus can do the catering.

His lad can mime to 1D.

    Sorted.

Right. Seriously. It's a special day. Obvz. But it baffles me the amount of money people spend on the day, purely for the benefit of....every ****er else.

    Wise words here Wildie

If you choose the venue you'll get it wrong...even if it's right

If you let your mates plan your stag night the likelihood of the wedding actually going ahead reduces...particulary if you end up in an Eastern European prison handcuffed to a dwarf with a sex toy glued to your forehead (before anyone asks this didn't happen on any of my stag nights...because that was in the days when you actually stayed in the same country!)

There's a vineyard at the top of Beverley clump in South Cave. Apparently they are going to start doing weddings. Wigwams etc - no idea how it's going to work/look. But an alternative. Our neighbours are getting married up there in July.

I'm off to a mate's wedding at Tickton Grange later this year. He's been very happy with how they've handled things for him and from what I understand the grounds of the place are lovely. Heard Skidby Mill is also decent.

I'm getting married in August at the Crab and Lobster in Thirsk. Whole thing is costing us 6 grand. Beautiful grounds, Michelin star food and a mystery beer tap hidden away that grants free lager to anyone who finds it.
