We both know there's no loyalty in football Chazz - Snodgrass is 29, the age where he has one last good contract in him. He's not getting that contract with us when/if we're relegated; he'll get a decent contract with a newly promoted or established mid-table PL club, or perhaps a semi-decent but longer contract up at Celtic. He's been a decent larker for us but he's never gonna be a legend - he helped us get promotion back to the PL, I thank him for that but, if he doesn't want to be here, he's no great loss.
He's just about cleansed the stench of Leeds off his cv, and the stigma is almost forgotten. Now why would he want so soil his career by going to Celtic, the playground bullies of the SPL, whose 60,000 'rebel' fans lap up the easy victories against Partick, Ross County ?
Surely when he retires, he will remember games like last Saturday's at WHU, against the odds stirring games in the most watched league of all, playing for a genuine 'outsider' club rather than winning 0-4 at Dunfermline?
(Plus he'd be paid better here)
