It's just posturing mate. The Russians can't stop them so they sabre rattle. There's no missile screen in Syria.

Just like mouthing off about nuking north Korea if thry attack Guam... unnecessary but no harm done as nobody has the capability of backing the big talk.

When you see Russia walk off the posturing platforms get worried. Posturing is good. It's all a game.

They also threatened to attack launch sites. That they could do...

    ... But I suspect they won't.

given launch sites may range from sea to land in numerous areas and even air launch from b52s Russia can sabre rattle all it likes.

Absolutely. Putin was showing off all his toys off recently - beware the Yanks, as they have far, far more weapons that the public doesn't know about, yet the Russians do. And that is on purpose. My old mate Tom Stafford (well, I met him once) said we had no idea what the US have tested and possess over the last fifty years, and he, as an adviser to two presidents, would know.

Russia could cause a great deal of damage with cyber warfare, if only financial damage.

There again, most of the internet pass through US servers so the US can do a lot of cyber damage too. Russia has more of a culture for encouraging cyber uh... Creativity though.

Where Americans are playing plants vs zombies Russians are learning to plant code on computers to turn them into zombies.

With Latest Syria Threats, Trump Continues to Be More Confrontational Toward Russia Than Obama Was
    https://theintercept.com/2018/04/11...confrontational-toward-russia-than-obama-was/

    "
Arming Ukraine:For years, the Obama administration refused to send lethal arms to Ukraine despite bipartisan demand that he do so. Proponents of arming Ukraine argued that doing so would be a way to push back against Russia after the annexation of Crimea. Opponents, including Obama, believed that sending lethal arms would lead to an escalation of the conflict and needlessly antagonize Russia. As The Atlantic put it after its widely touted interview with Obama: “Obama’s theory here is simple: Ukraine is a core Russian interest but not an American one.”

By stark contrast, the Trump administration last December approved a lethal arms transfers, including anti-tank weapons. The Russian government was not pleased. “Washington is trying to present itself as a mediator,” Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov said. “It is not a mediator at all, it is an accomplice in fomenting a war.”

Liberal media when Trump wants to seal up border = Beds shat in
same liberal media on this = crickets

imagine if Trump ordered US border patrol to shoot anyone who came near the border fences.. what the reaction would be (quite rightly too).. in our lofty moral leftist media

Seems to me the situation has gone on for so long that the leftists that are left speaking on this topic are not getting air time as everyone is so used to it going on they can't make enough hysteria to make the news.

It seems to me theres a very active search and blast out "new" reasons to be angry but once something goes on a while it becomes the norm and ignored.

maybe there is also a well thats over there mentality i don't know.

"Dangerous here. If Putin doesn't shoot them down he loses face. If he does shoot them down then that is a direct act of military force against US military force. "
?! Defence against an illegal act of aggression (by international law, I know the US hates international law which is why they have the "invade Holland law" is not an act of aggression, you have a weird sense of reality. As in completely distorted.

"Russia probably feel like idiots for putting Trump on the throne now" << if you believe this, you are honestly severely cognitively compromised.

"On one hand I like that Trump doesn't back down to Putin. Putin needs to be slapped around before he respects you, on the other hand I don't trust Trump to not go too far. You need someone more wily to go head-to-head with Putin. Trump is all black or white."
This reads like the average 2000s Fox News viewer, **** me<yikes> It's also complete nonsense

You are at the same time claiming Trump is a Putin puppet and also at odds with Putin <doh> You're all over the shop mate

Seems your comments are based on nothing but the empty cans that are rattling around in your head<laugh>

"A Vietnam for the 21st Century is a potential possibility" Are you smoking crack? This has been going on for 7 years. Russia and Syria have been fighting UK US and French backed militants for at least two years, and Syria fighting them since 2011, it's already a "reverse" Vietnam you clueless nitwit ;)

The swathe of Anglo state direct and fully supported logistically and financially, destruction of the past 15 years. Human carnage for $$ and influence, geopolitical positioning

We're the good guys, sure. but "muh Putin"

We arm and back Jaish al-Islam (Army of Islam) who want to take over Syria and implement hardline Sharia Law
We back Al Qaeda in Syria
We have given weapons to the "rebels" for years knowing they were sharing them with ISIS
We allowed ISIS to extract and move oil to Turkey for years, until Russia showed up and smashed it in 2 weeks
We sent all of Gaddafi's weapons to Syria when the rebels were literally defeated in Syria in 2013, and the fighters to use them.

Now Assad has won, ISIS are all but defeated in Syria, Al Qaeda are all but defeated, Jaish al-Islam (Army of Islam) the last remnants are all that remain fleeing to the north after being allowed to leave in buses from Douma

It is established fact that the White Helmets are in fact embedded propaganda outfit with the militants. Yet Guardian runs propaganda for them.https://www.theguardian.com/world/2017/dec/18/syria-white-helmets-conspiracy-theories

Jaysh Al-Islam (Army of Islam) are the source of the claims of yet another "chemical weapon attack".
So US France and UK want to bomb the last Christian bastion in the middle east
