It is still there. Going strong, I'd say. I go past its front door once a fortnight or so and it is always busy.

Part of the appeal is the total craziness - it really is fast, fast food. You get to sit at random tables, nearly always with other people, and the food comes as it is cooked. Don't imagine a starter is a concept they know about. But the atmosphere is just buzzing.

You get what you pay for IMHO (waiters' habits notwithstanding) and it is successful because of that old fashioned effect - word of mouth. I will admit to avoiding the place in the last five years or so.

Welcome Oxford (sorry if I missed your earlier posts). I know nothing about his time at the Vic but I did have a cricket coaching session once with him at Lords. He was a gentleman in all senses, as I recall.

Oxford, although Fred signed for Watford, I am not sure that he ever played for the first team. It would have been in the early 50s I think, and even my memory only has hazy recollections of that period.

Certainly in those days it was possible to play cricket in the summer and football in the winter. Most professional footballers only had contracts for the football season and were not paid during the summer.

OFH I agree my first game at the Vic was around 1956 (I was very young)and my memories are also hazy but I had no recollection of Fred ever being connected to the club.

    - oh and I just consulted the oracle (Trefor Jones) re The Fred Titmus Question.

No mention at all, which may just mean that he never played for the first team.

That is very interesting BB. Only tomorrow though to arrange a loan deal.

I read some of the comments from the Bournemouth fans and it seems that they are not being kept well informed on what is happening within the club. A comment that could apply elsewhere goes as follows:

"There is more twists and turns at our club than a python on acid!

DEAN COURT- THE THEATRE OF SCHEMES!!!!!"

Erm.... why should they have all the drama.:emoticon-0100-smile

I would vote for Danny Graham but I do not want to support a website that can not spell. This is their text as you enter the website and I marked what I think is wrong.

By registering and entering your details you consent to Givemefootball Limited and its clitents sending you information about products and/or services that may be interetst to you.You also agree to the tems and conditions of the privacy statemen that govern how your information will be processsed.

I think there may be more but the mistakes I found were very obvious.

Evening all :)...COYH, you're right, it would be great to see him win, he definitely deserves to imho. (though i'm completely biased of course!)

Oooh BB. It would be good to shore up that little hole we seem to have at the back...though it looks like we're miles off his value..according to that article...one day to go!

Too right ak - I don't fancy receiving anything from clitents either.

I'm not sure what they are, but the word dredges up memories from my youth of sexual encounters whilst camping - sigh. View attachment 1516

    lmao! BB, funny man.

Reading the comments on that article from Bournemouth, sounds like he's quite good, though maybe lacking a bit of strength.

I have just spotted that both the England senior and U21 teams have been training at our London Colney ground.

I hope that we have charged them enough to pay the loan fee for a left back.;)

For those of you who have wondered does Frenchie actually have fields where he builds sheds/workshops/gites and does the sun shine as often as he makes out I thought you might like to see the fruits of my labours. :emoticon-0100-smile
