What about all of us and every Saints fan club together and buy Pompey..? Can you imagine the conflict of interest..? The oozing, cloying gratitude we'd receive. I almost wish we'd do it, just to experience the moment.
I would miss the derby atmosphere. There really is nothing quite like it, but if they go down or we go up then that would be a great rarity anyway. I am sympathetic to the fans who are guilty of nothing more than supporting their local team. Am I inclined to spend what Theo would refer to as "my children's inheritance" to help them? Sorry, but no. They have been spending other people's money for too long.
For the geniune pompey fans i hope they survive, for the vile pigs who shouted abuse at the saints players i hope they sink without a trace ...............
For that to work, Jon, we would have to have two Pompeys, (imagine that!) The horrid one would go bust and all the yobbos would be sad, and the nice Pompey would still be here, but they (the yobbos) wouldn't be allowed to come to the games. The haters could then be glad, because the yobbos would be sad, and the friendly rivaleers would have a club, they could sort of look down on with polite disdain. Got all that?
No, I don't get any of that. As far as I'm concerned, and Saints fans SHOULD be concerned... is that your club have never done anything good for us, towards us, you have shown vitriol, hate, discontent... ''those filthy scummers'', and we have had to face the humiliation of losing 4-1 to you lot. Never again, it's time to show no mercy... I've had enough of 'little old pompey', I've had enough of your fans, your club... that horrible little tosser avram, and god damn it I've had enough of JOHN WESTWOOD. It's time to kill Portsmouth football club, win this war once and for all. COME ON YOU REDS! SHOOT THE POMPEY SCUM RED AND WHITE, BLUE IS ****E.
I think Nicola should offer all the nice Pompey fans a free seaon ticket for St Mary's. That should help ease the pain of the loss of their club. They could come and sit near me and then when they are feeling a little low remembering all the old times I could lend them my handkerchief and give them a little hug. Grief doesn't last very long.
Oh, I think you're being a bit harsh there, mate. There is one thing I would like to get rid of, and it's the ****ing BELL. Thank goodness we only have to hear it once in a blue moon.
On Player, Adkins was asked if he had sympathy for Appleton at Pompey. He said it was an opportunity to get good experience to go on to be a great manager. Only Adkins could see a positive in such a negative
I like the nasty, blue painted bell ringing drunken idiot pompey. Save that, so I can laugh at them all.
I just do not understand where all of the vitriol stems from. Pompey fans have the excuse of jealousy after we were top dogs for so long, but us Saints fans??? We have the best run club(now) on the south coast. We are looking at the very real possibility of regaining our dream of Premier League football, whilst Pompey are looking at something much less palatable. I know we had abuse from some Pompey fans but we had it from Seagull and Cherry fans as well. For me the only concern is that we remain on course for promotion and in doing so stay above Pompey.
A Saints Fan, A Bournemouth Fan, A Brighton Fan, A Portsmouth Fan were all on an airplane together when one of the engines fails. The pilot explains the situation to the all of the passengers. He tells them if someone doesn't jump out they will all be dead. He asks who is prepared to die for the greater good, adding that they will be remembered as a hero forever. The brave Bournemouth fan says 'Ok then, i will do this for the glory of my Fellow footie fans and jumps out. The pilot turns around and tells the remaining passengers that the plane is still going down and someone else must do the right thing. The Brighton Fan tells every one that as he is the oldest out of all the passengers, he will take the plunge, so he jumps out . Again the pilot turns around and says, its helping but we need 1 more to jump for the rest of the passengers to survive. So the Saints Fan says 'well I hoped it wouldn't come to this, but I will do this for the greater good and for the glory of my country. So he grabs the Pompey Fan and throws him out the door!
I know they have this one in, one out policy at the moment, and I also can see that this would likely never happen...but consider loaning the likes of Barnard and Holmes to Pompey. They are very unlikely to get any game time for us, and I can see them both leaving at the end of the season. It would help Pompey field a full team, and more than that it could potentially help us out as they still have to play Birmingham, Reading and Hull.
