I vaguely remember it and in the other show you mentioned, I always wondered what Alf Garnett meant by 'scaarr..s git' - it was ages before I cottoned on it was 'scouse' referring to his son in law [Cherie Blair's Dad btw ] I'm a bit better at understanding accents now
Saint was correct about the satire and the show was all about "whitey" being thick as an Eskimos coat while the black couple were very nice and very tolerant of their racist neighbour. But at the same time The Comedian's was a hit and that was just plain mockery of blacks(and others)and nasty with it. If Bernard Manning was still alive and doing his thing Manchester would be up to its neck in racial problems because his main targets were from Muslim countries.
Good question. Does laughing at a racist joke make you a racist? I suppose it depends on the context and content of the supposed joke.
I'm sick to death of this cold weather. And you wouldnt mind but its that black ice coming over here making our roads slippy
This needs to be redone with Brummy accents Of course expats never felt like they are going abroad and stealing jobs
How the **** are this lot tolerated at all. http://www.channel4.com/news/britain-first-far-right-anti-muslim-extremists-mosques If they were anti semitic, they would have been doing porridge before their first week was up. Anti Muslim tho.. go head, recruit nutbags. It's all good.
Might have had something to do with Molby leaving Liverpool 6 years before spit the dog signed for us.
Not sure that just because we have a larger diversity that we should have people from these ethnic backgrounds in certain roles. If they are not up to the job then should they just be employed to fill a quota?
The point is many are "up to the job" but get overlooked Thought we were talking about racism, why bring Everton's route one tactic into it.
