Absolutely. Protect a 1.5mm lighting circuit with a 40amp device and overload the circuit then it won't break until the cable is mush, but that isn't short circuit. A technicality, but important nonetheless. If the electrics in a building such as this weren't I'm tip top condition, then it's naughty naughty.
From what I have been reading the wiring in many of our churches and cathedrals are a complete disgrace, Lichfield’s hasn’t been touched for decades. Not sure how they can get away with it, when I had to wait ages to get the electrics in my kitchen certified.
I would like to see them rebuild Notre Dame in high tech glass and steel no point in trying to rebuild it in a traditional way imo it’s 2019 not 1200 Stick a Gerkin type in the middle of it the contrasts would be spectacular imo Stick a big Burger King in on the ground floor Job done imo Money could go to a lot better causes imo but then there’s no tax write offs or publicity in that France is full to the brim with beautiful architecture both new and old Sad accident ... move on
