If, they win, you just know that Pardew will turn and look up at the Directors box and hold a stare for a moment or too. Hope we don't get to see that.

    Just read this:

No side have attempted more long passes in the Premier League this season than Newcastle

Another factor in the debate about the two managers.

Nicola won't be there...he will be outside strapping a bomb under the team coach.

With us, I think Pardew got a bit bored of the challenge having not got us up first time. Same thing happened at Charlton and I have my doubts that he would have got us where we are now had he stayed on. Even at West Ham, he got promotion and an FA Cup final, then he just lost interest. After Newcastle's fantastic season, you do wonder whether he'll stick to form and get himself sacked, becoming very rich in the process. They might have to rename the stadium again!

Can't quite see why he was given such a long contract at Newcastle. It doesn't make sound business sense. If he wanted to move on he could probably still force a move, whereas it would cost a fortune to payy off his contract if they wanted rid of him. Unless there is a crafty little exit clause that they haven't made public.

They could have mentioned Puncheon who has been key for us this season, or Fonte who was key in getting us promoted, but no they mention Lallana who is I think one of only 3 players still around from the pre-liebherr days, no offence to Sun readers but that kind of journalism is quite common throughout the paper. I wouldn't trust the Sun if they cited all their sources, I would sooner trust the Daily Mail.

Pundits think very highly of Nigel. MOTD's Colin Murray actually said he's a bloody miracle worker and nobody disagreed. Slightly off topic, but nobody mentions Paul Lambert when listing good managers. Two promotions on the spin and PL survival. That's not bad at all.

Not at all. He'll be on the phone to the French butcher with the best response time. ;)

I suspect he'd be getting more praise if he were still at Norwich. But so far, this move to Villa hasn't done his CV much good.

I'm not surprised that Lambert wanted to better himself - with all due repsect to Norwich, they're hardly going to be challenging for the Champions League any time soon - but I think the move to Villa was a mistake. Based more on their name (when you say Aston Villa, you instantly think Premiership club), then their actual current situation (ie poor squad, just survived relegation, seemingly not too much money available to spend etc).

He'd have been better off staying at Norwich and waiting for a better job to come around.

Would appear Pardew was relieved to of been sacked by Cortese if this article is to be believed.
    http://www.thenorthernecho.co.uk/sp...__I_was_relieved_when_Southampton_sacked_me_/

Pardew picked us up off the floor when we were at an all time low, for that I will always be grateful. Nigel came in and exceeded all expectations for the 2 years hes been with us. But the thing I love about him is his enthusiam, integrity and he really seems to have an affection for the club (not sure AP did).
