Nigel Pearson will be gone-lose the fan base and your history-so three good managers out there.
Or would you like Neil Warnock to see out the season and see where it takes us.

bit early to speculate; but i would go on bended knee to shaun dyche, and ask him very very nicely, if he might forget the history, and give us another go.

We need someone to come in on a short term basis to keep us in the Championship and worry about the longer term during the rest of this campaign. I have always been an admirer of Sean Dyche and his ability to keep a relatively small market team at the top table for a reasonable length of time. Lansdown needs to swallow his pride and push the boat out to follow his own self professed dream of wanting to see Bristol City plying their trade at a higher level. Am I right in thinking there is some bad blood spoiling the possibility of getting Dyche, or some person of the same class, to come and work with us because, if that is correct, I might be tempted to put forward the theory that we have had a back room gremlin spoiling each and every chance we have of success. Should that gremlin be Steve Lansdown, as I suspect, then any hope we have of reaching the promised land that every supporter deserves for their loyalty is disappearing up somebody's backside. I have lost track of how many posts asking basically the same old questions I, and many others, have posted over the years without ever getting the answers. Here we go again.

P.S. What were the issues with Sean Dyche, as I have a huge gap in the history of Bristol City due to no coverage of English football in Canada during the late 70's and early 80's and the internet was in it's infancy and media coverage was not available. Thanks crow.

PPS>. I can't see any on the thread list that take my fancy.

I’ve no idea who would even consider coming, Sean Dyche could do much better than little old Bristol City, even if he had fond memories us us, which he doesn’t.

It was to do with his playing time with us (before Lansdown era so nothing to do with him) He was bought I think when Chesterfield went on a cup run and was not the best and also injured a lot. So he got a lot of abuse from fans. He wrote in an article playing for us was his worse time as a player.
He will have his sights on a lot bigger projects than us.

Wilder annoyed by Boro’s spending restrictions and spoke out against the club. Chances of him coming here slim, to none.
Smith very doubtful to come here with no money to lower his stock anymore.
Parker, only good in this division with shed load of money to spunk away.
    Warnock, no chance.
We all know, if Nige goes it will be out of Euell or Fleming.
Keep Nige and let’s see how the transfer window goes.

Thanks for the information ROD as I didn't even know he ever played for us. Long time ago though and memories fade unless they are about you know who. Quite honestly I don't expect any improvement from the transfer window as we rarely take part in any meaningful way., but you can never say never.

Please not Warnock, or Bruce for that matter. The pair of them, and Pearson are now dinosaurs imo, and not at all in touch with the modern game. How about the guy in charge of the Canadian National
team as an out of the box option? Young and hungry, which is what we need imo.

First of all I thought that could be a shout, but my problem is, not sure he would know enough about the championship...would be a huge gamble imo.. especially this late in the season...
As it stands I'm not sure if I have a suggestion..none that have been suggested is filling me with joy...all has beens doing the rounds

On balance I think this is the way we’ll go, personally I’d move Nige on as I don’t see him changing from using players out of position & his points record over his tenure isn’t anywhere near good enough, I fear under him we’ll be relegated, I’ve stuck with him up till now, but feel in order to stay up he needs to go. I hope I’m proved wrong.

Call the fans out your history.

I really don't see any manager getting a tune out of these players-not been good enough for three years now.

Bigger problems changing the culture at BCFC even Nige is struggling.

Our owner and board are not known for making good or even quick decisions, but if we don't get some points soon we could be in a situation that is irrecoverable if they're not careful, and the saga will start all over again with the possibility of a prolonged stay in L1 again with all the other teams that have fallen into its clutches.

Yes, we're a small time club compared to the likes of WBA, Norwich and all the others that have bounced between the top 2 divisions over the last 50 years like Middlesbrough, Sunderland, Watford, Burnley, QPR, and co, but we should be able to more than hold our own against the likes of Luton, Blackpool, Millwall, Rotherham, Preston and Wigan, yet we're struggling again.

I wanted Nige to succeed and I still do, but it's looking more and more unlikely. Blame FFP, Covid or whatever but it's not good.

At a minimum we should be a decent mid table outfit with what he has at his disposal.

    Depressingly all too familiar

Parker will probably fancy the Norwich job, as will Dyche, and possibly Wilder. None of the others on this list inspire me. We could look abroad.

I'm sure we'll attract the usual gaggle of B or C list Managers if it comes to it

    How about Wales then?

Mark Hughes, Tony Pulis or even Steve Cooper who'll be out of a job soon?
