The pigmy hippo looks bizarre but cute at the same time. Almost like plastic or a Madam Tussauds wax figure brought to life. The second hippo looks more like the ones I'm used to seeing, but without the teeth/tusks. Hard to believe they are, in the animal kingdom, the biggest killer of humans in Africa.
They are yeah, viscious bastards apparently. Still a long long way behind mosquitoes though in the grand scheme of things.
Wow, I've become Cliff Clavin. Cheers for that HB. Seriously though, you're right. Mosquitoes kill around a million people a year world wide. And now that WE'VE reached Plague Proportions (8 Billion), that stat. might just get worse.
Vicious and ungrateful in this case. In 2005, a South African man, Marius Els, adopted a baby hippo after rescuing it from a river. Six years later the hippo dragged him into the same river and ate him ☠️ (From - History Daily. 26/11/2022).
