As it happens, I agree with your initial post on suggesting that Saints shouldn't gamble with their PL future by trying to survive the current season on the cheap. I agree that we need stronger or backup players in certain positions [departments, for those that didn't understand]. Yes indeed, the lack of signing Buttner may come back to haunt us. In fact, I seriously believe that someone from ManU got to Buttner's agent to suggest that he didn't sign for Southampton, but to let a little time pass, for the smoke to clear, and they would come in for him.
