I said already, Lawell has done the right thing.

A statement from him saying "No to Newco" early on to appease us (and I wanted him to say that early on) would've been counter-productive.

I believe ST quoted Napoleon on this the other week.

If I was chairman, I would've said it early on but that would've been a mistake - countless column inches would be dedicated by Jabba and Jackson to how we were trying to bully the other clubs/pandering to the support etc etc

Why bring our club into the spotlight when it wasn't even necessary though? At least this way if we get the raw end of any deal we can play the victim card - and unlike Rangers who brought all their troubles on themselves we can pull it off
