    Language is more than just words, it's how those words are used/understood by the people you're speaking to.

    That's why the English used in Ye Olden Days is still English, and the English we speak now is still English.

    Is all the rancour about language in Scotland Ireland Yacky dah land etc; caused because the language is called English? Could it be possible?

    Actually the language we speak tody was imposed (holistically speaking) on the English by the Anglo-Saxons, the Celts, The French, The vikings and the church (Latin).
