Ubiquity and consumerism aside I would say McDonald's offers average, guilt ridden, food at cheap prices. In recent years I think they've upped their game with better burgers and less soggy fries and I have definitely had worse burgers from say Wetherspoons or pubs attached to cheap hotels...

Wasn't quite the point I was making - a comprehensive education is certainly not something I would deride - I have one. It was more the point that simply going to school hardly makes you an expert in education as the press seem to be suggesting.

    Off Topic The Politics Thread

I'm starting to think that this is all some clever ruse to get people more engaged with politics, using incompetence as a means to stoke interest in politics and get some new blood in the door. I'm staggered by the amount of fawning there has been over the appointment of a education sectary who...

Struth...with his invaluable international experience managing Jordan earlier this year he's certainly the man to speak to... Maybe they just did it in the hope that by letting him have a say he might bugger off and not keep talking about it - "we'll let the old boy have his say that'll keep...

    Off Topic A Novel Idea......

I see your point and sure asking players and ex-players that are actually able to string a sentence together can have its merits but I think that by asking people who's main experience in international football is as part of the very teams that have failed they run the risk of making the same...

    Off Topic A Novel Idea......

I've seen in the press that the FA are to speak to former players etc about what they should do with names like Rio Ferdinand, Steven Gerrard and Alan Shearer all bandied about as potential candidates to help find the next manager and fix things. What worries me is that this is just an old boys...

    Your all time QPR eleven

It's nice to see some fondness for Raymondo. His ill-fated time as our manager has tarnished a lot of memories of what a good player he was. The fact that he could dictate a game without really moving all that much was just incredible. He didn't really kick the ball - he caressed it!

Off Topic It's a miracle, his knees are better!

So wait...Derby get our "Dream Manager", give him 9 months or so then sack him, replace him with their equivalent of Chris Ramsey and then (propose to) hire a grizzled "older head" on a short term basis to help the inexperienced manager to find his feet. Not only is it laughable that they...
