Match Day Thread Blackburn Rovers vs QPR

Not often you think a late-ish sub is MOTM but Smyth is definitely it. At the other extreme can someone please explain what's happened to Kone? His sub performance was ludicrously slow and littered with errors.

Match Day Thread QPR vs Hull City

It's a worry that Kone's form has dipped so badly when we apparently have a coach with a rep for bringing on young players. If ever a player needed bringing on Kone is it. In the meantime, I don't see how it's any more risky trying Kolli from the start.

Match Day Thread QPR vs Hull City

A bit harsh on Hull. There can't be many teams in the top 2 divisions who don't play possession football when allowed to do it. And when they did come forward they pinged it around really crisply (with Varane looking very static) and with a real threat. It was only when we remembered that we...

Match Day Thread QPR vs Hull City

I must admit I thought Hull would run away with it having given up the first goal (as usual) and with them in control of the midfield. But we came back stronger after both goals which is an excellent sign of progress. Dembele a flawed MOTM but caused them all kinds of trouble. Got to bury more...

Match Day Thread QPR vs Southampton

We're better off without Chair in his current frame of mind. No creativity and we have many wingers to do a better job of what he is actually doing. Dembele looked good when he came on. Saito would have been good if we'd actually given him the ball. Smyth lively as ever if wasteful. Mugged tonight.

Match Day Thread QPR vs Ipswich

It's hard to take any positives from such a dire performance. Poor in every position but in particular Kone was totally anonymous, Cook looked past it again and Nardi was just Nardi.

Match Day Thread Swansea vs QPR

My confidence in the manager has taken a major dent tonight. Absolutely no clue how to put the game to bed even against such poor opposition and in such a dire situation for them. And why is our team only able to play well for 10 or 15 minutes at a time? Depressed after an away win and back in...

Match Day Thread QPR vs Millwall

I see the criticism of Frey building up but to be honest Kone was much more ineffective today. The big Millwall defenders ate him for breakfast. Certainly the pairing clearly doesn't work. Very disappointing after an excellent first 30 minutes but if you don't shoot you don't score.

Match Day Thread Wrexham vs QPR

Nothing will detract from an excellent away win but the midfield debate is an important one for us. Madsen is an unlikely footballer but if it's a choice between him or Sam Field then give me the Dane. He seems to have the vision if not the skill and strength, and at least the ball goes forward...

Match Day Thread QPR vs Charlton

I'm still very much not convinced about our new head coach. We made a good start to the game and were well on top when there was a lengthy injury stoppage after 25 minutes or so. Both sets of players came to the bench to get fresh instructions. After that, Charlton's pressing game went into...

Match Day Thread QPR vs Charlton

A much needed win but the better team lost IMO. Why no QPR team in living memory has been capable of playing against a high press remains a mystery and certainly nothing had changed today. Saito saved everyone's bacon today, particularly the coach. Big improvement still needed.

Match Day Thread QPR vs Preston

Madsen was streets better than I've seen him before, heavily involved and played a lot of intelligent forward passes. Field was exactly as I've always seen him before, rarely available for the ball to alleviate a press and always looking backward when in possession. At minimum, they clearly need...

    Marti Considering Quitting

Ah yes, how I fondly remember Sam's swashbuckling performances under Warburton, Beale, Critchley and Ainsworth.

    Marti Considering Quitting

No tears from me. Yes he managed to get something from the squad when it really mattered but we've watched some truly turgid football and the team under-achieved for most of last season. I realise there's only so much you can do with Sam backwards-is-best Field as your midfield lynch-pin but I...

    Marti Considering Quitting

By talking to WBA Cifuentes has given the club no choice. We don't know what's gone on behind the scenes but the coach has definitely forced the issue with that move and hasn't shown a lot of loyalty or integrity IMO. He may yet come good somewhere but while we have been better organised his...
