Not a great performance and improvements needed for Sunday at WBA, but that late win should give us a boost for the next half a dozen games. Did some good things at times, but we looked a nervy side shot on confidence. We've given ourselves a chance with this scruffy win, let's build on it.
My first post on the forum for a few weeks. Hope that everyone is keeping well and managing as well as possible during the current restrictions :emoticon-0148-yes:.
A final thought as well and not a happy one. For decades, our fans dreamed of seeing us play in the top division. 12 years after achieving that dream we had the opportunity to establish a legacy from finally achieving that dream. We may not have stayed in the Premier League, but could have...
Greetings all, first post for a while.
It's not just the defeats which are worrying, but the manner of them. Barnsley was dross, Leeds was slightly better but still a drubbing and yesterday the game was lost within the first 15 minutes. The rest of the game from then on just felt like damage...
Points more towards us finishing around 8th - 12th. We never seem able to make that incisive push into the top 6 with our lack of consistency. Still, plenty to play for and there'll be bumps in the road along the way. Even if we do miss out on the top 6, there seems to be enough good things...
Good chance to pit ourselves against a decent side and hopefully one to draw people's interest (was expecting us to draw Barnsley or Birmingham!) Just annoying that after a week of putting up with 'Wayne Rooney's Derby' we'll then be moving on to 'Frank Lampard's Chelsea'! One of those games...
For those asking about consecutive away wins, Rick posted on Twitter yesterday that the last time we did this was in 2016
Derby a Play-off first leg
Exeter a League Cup
Swansea a Premier League
Not sure if it's better to count within the same season.
Good result yesterday and good to see...
One of the most important things today I feel was putting back-to-back wins together (only 2nd time this season). Winning is a habit and it's good to put at least 2 wins together. After Forest, I was worried how we would get on in these two tough away games and we've had an excellent return...
Plenty of options to choose from, which is testament to the decade which we had. Here's mine:
McGregor
Rosenior
Chester
Dawson
Robertson
Koren
Huddlestone
Diame
Quinn
Bowen
Hernandez
Subs: Jak, Maguire, Davies, Livermore, Snodgrass, Grosicki, Fryatt
If anyone fancies a laugh, check out some of the Leeds tweets from yesterday's game. Admittedly it was a soft penalty given against them, but it's quite amusing to see them complaining about it when they'd be the first to pipe up if the opposition were whinging over a contentious decision.
