We've been charged by the FA...

A couple of points. Gibb' s "tackle" was overshadowed by whether he was the last man. He had no chance of getting the ball being on the wrong side and made basically an assault rather than a tackle. Surely an arguable red for that alone. However a shrewd bloke like Silva will get some...

As a happily married man who has owned a number of great dogs, can I remark that the Victorians had a saying "a woman, a spaniel and a walnut tree, the more you beat them the better they be". Just saying like. (ducks hastily).

Well he does get to meet Djokavic and luck had nothing to do with it. Worth noting again that he is only 21. In the light of some the criticism our signings of similar aged players, "if you are good enough you are old enough".

This local lad from Tickton deserves his own thread today. Two single wins in a 3-2 defeat of Serbia in the quarter finals of the Davis Cup. Both in three straight sets. At age of 21 he is now no 2 in the uk and looked really impressive today. Better on clay than grass it seems, but both matches...

That's because the Guardian has edited it out. It originally compared mrs mainwearing's invisibility to that of Mrs Rumpole who wasn't invisible at all. I imagine comments on the grauniad website pointed this out with some vigour.

It shatters your confidence in his judgement a bit when the reviewer thinks Mrs Rumpole was an off screen character. Is that 13 I hear chiming?

Peter Dimmock. Shaped sport on the BBC in the beginning of TV. Contributed as a presenter, producer and executive. Grandstand and Match of the Day were brought in during his watch and he was a regular presenter of the former. To be fair I was astonished when I heard he had died, as I thought he...
