I don't think we are a selling club any more. Most people agreed that it was good business to sell players like Snodgrass and Redmond for a combined £18m after the two relegations, as those sales allowed for other players to come in. Jacob has more than replaced Redmond and that cost us nothing. I don't think he will be leaving as the only source for this rumour is one, probably lazy, journalist. It will certainly be a test of our commitment to 'building a dynasty' and I feel sure that it's one we'll pass. Brady could go, if the money is right (like the Snodgrass and Redmond deals). but we'd have to recruit another LB unless Toffolo is deemed sufficient. Sunderland or another struggling PL team could come in for Naismith, but I doubt the money would be great compared to what we paid and he is the most likely replacement for Brady at WL. It's possible that Klose could also leave, but that would leave even greater need for defensive strengthening and I'm pretty sure we wouldn't be able to recruit any player of his quality.
That's a great post Rick and it is why I suggested that Paddy Davitt wasn't talking absolute tosh in his praise of Jacob. I remember Redmond's decision-making issues, and poor concentration often wandering aimlessly arround with hands on hips, none of that from Jacob!
Both of those are true, Dave, but there were also times when Redmond seemed to think that tracking back was 'beneath him', which often left us exposed at the back. Jacob is very willing to track back and use his pace to make life difficult for his opposing FB.
Agent Dave @AgentDave_ According to Alan Nixon. Norwich have had £10 million bid for Robbie Brady. 50k a week deal from #AVFC. Will look into this.. please log in to view this image
Interesting Cromer. Hard to know how reliable the source is. Obviously, Bruce knows Robbie well, but that could also lead to a 2+2 = 5 sort of lazy journalism. On one hand, he could be a player we might sell for good money, but would we sell to a promotion rival? I'd say no myself. Another possibility could be Bruce trying to unsettle one our players before we meet them.
They all took it in turns at the recent AGM to emphasise their support for him. Shallow talk unless he gets their full (££) backing in next month's transfer window - and how else will they have the finances to do so? I can see Brady and Josh M being sold to fund any incoming players in January.
That would assume we would bring somebody in! I can see them being sold in January.....Doubt that money would go towards a striker or a CB. Or at least one of any quality. (It's Jacob people are tracking aren't they? Not Josh?)
**Shop window alert** Lafferty - man bun and all, is getting circa three (3) minutes to impress potential suitors
City have asked about a loan for Man. U.goalie Sam Johnstone. Bristol C and Villa also interested. United willing to let him go to a club that will guarantee him playing time.
Not sure if this is a rumour or a fact but Gary Rowlett has been sacked as the manager at Birmingham City. They are presently 7th and feel that he needs sacking! Makes AN tenure look precarious with us at 8th. Clearly BCFC owners are acting as they feel fit while Delia and co navel gaze
I think it's more likely you'll find that 99.9% of the sensible world think Birmingham's owners are fecking stupid!
It's hard to know whether Rowlett has the support of the players, but all indications are that AN does have the support of ours. Oh good, I'm in the majority for once!
Wildschut from Wigan seems to be on our rada. Dutch winger also liked by Derby. Does this mean Brady and/or the Murphy's are likely to leave?
It is rumoured that Hogan at Brentford not interested in coming to Norwich City. Now there's surprise!! Anybody read Paddy Davitt's article in the Pink Un? No punches pulled and sums up how most fans feel.
I saw Paddy's article and the Q&A, there are really no voices left in support of the manager. I knew people 4 games back saying they would give him a couple more games to prove himself, he certainly doesn't seem to have proved any of the naysayers wrong, on the contrary he has added further ammunition. can Delia really have her head so far up her arse that she canot see a club ready to tear itself apart? (Ooo another stadium name springs to mind!)
Well, that's us out of the frame then (if we were ever in it? ) From BBC gossip page: Crystal Palace have set their sights on Sam Allardyce as a potential replacement for Alan Pardew, should the Eagles boss get the sack.
