DId younsee 30th Century Man? Oh dear. I hope all those lasses who used to swoon over him when I was a teenager saw it. Same with Andy Fairweather-Low and Peter Frampton. The first time the Walker Brothers were on TV, Ready Steady Go I think, they did Pretty Girls Everywhere I Go , which Scott Walker wasn't the lead singer on. A lass at our youth club wrote Scott Walker a letter and he said it was the first fan mail he had received. Always remember it was very neat but the largest lettering I have seen. A couple of years later when they had made it big she received in the post two tickets for their concert at Leeds and a letter for her to be given back stage access to meet him. A great, thoughtful gesture. Poor lass died after a brain haemorrhage in her late twenties.
The French have a particular love of a singer called Johnny Hallyday for some reason. He is known as the French Elvis, a bit like Sir Cliff in that respect in that he is our British Elvis.
