Rubin Kazan have offered him a new contract, and he put a picture on social media, which gives the impression he has thanked us for our support, but it's time for him to move on. Rubin Kazan fully intend to keep Yann M'Vila beyond the expiry of his current deal with the Russian club and have offered the player a new contract. That is according to one of Russia's biggest news and sport outlets, Business Gazette. The publication has this afternoon said that the offer will firmly establish the Frenchman as one of the highest earners at the cash-rich Tartarstan club. And whilst we've previously reported that Rubin Kazan have intended offering M'Vila a new deal all along, the timing is now significant with the advent of December and the final few weeks of the 26-year-old's current contract in Russia. After a protracted summer saga in which the player looked to be on the verge of joining Sunderland on a permanent basis, Yann M'Vila has since successfully established himself in the Kazan first team and despite claims he has yet to reach peak-fitness, he has impressed in recent performances. Indeed, in temperatures approaching minus-fifteen degrees centigrade on Wednesday night, it was M'Vila who provided a fine through-ball to enable his teammate, Jonathus de Jesus, to score the only goal of the game and lift his side into the top half of the Russian Premier League table. M'Vila has gained increasingly positive reviews for his performances and in his tackling skills and deft play-making from the rear of midfield. In a week in which Yann M'Vila appeared to say goodbye to Sunderland fans by posting his 'thanks' on social media, the news comes as something of a blow with central midfield remaining David Moyes' side Achilles heel. In truth, Sunderland had ample opportunity to complete the signature of one of the finest midfielders we have seen at the Stadium of Light in the previous decade. The player clearly wished to join Sunderland on a permanent basis in the summer, but for whatever reason the club were unable to conclude a deal with Rubin Kazan. Hints of pre-contract agreements with M'Vila have been and gone, and in recent days there has been some suggestion of at least one other English club being on alert to pounce should the Frenchman opt to leave Russia, as well as clubs in Turkey. Regardless, as at this afternoon it appears the hope of supporters that Yann M'Vila will again feature in a red-and-white shirt is over and that Sunderland must look to new targets.
I'm really surprised that he's staying there I thought he couldn't wait to get out. I don't reckon Moyes ever intended to sign him to be honest, I suppose he has to pick his own players. Still gutted that we ****ed it up though.

He'll go with whoever offers him the biggest contract mate. The way Kazan throw money around it's unlikely we can compete. We had our chance and blew it.
This was in the Roker Report yesterday and as usual there is absolutely sweet FA we can do about it. End of contract, he can sit back and listen to offers or decide to loan elsewhere. As regards not signing him in July, we have no idea what Rubin were asking in the way of fee, but the club do and once this is settled maybe they will reveal. On the other hand he may just sign. Open mind until it is all sorted.
After all this time though, surely he would hang on for a few more weeks to see what his options were? We have picked up recently so would be more of an option? Having said that, if he chooses Russian rubles over us then good luck to the lad.

It was when he said about finding better value wasn't it, you won't get better value than M'Vila for less than ten million. He only said that to pay lip service to the fans desperate to sign him. N'Dong is ok but he is not a better player or better value at thirteen mil than M'Vila. Oh well, life pisses on your chips again what a surprise.
