Revolver. The best Beatles album (in my opinion), Rubber Soul, came out on this day 51 years ago.

This didn't take them long.
Have you seen 'Eight Days a Week'?In the top 3 alongside Abbey Road for me. Recently though I've been really getting into Help! a lot.
Though All Things Must Pass is my favourite 'Beatles' record.
On a side note, I finally got a vinyl copy of All Things Must Pass the other day from Spin-It. Been after it for ages, could never find it anywhere. Doesn't help when it was only ever reissued once.
Have you seen 'Eight Days a Week'?
Hi Alan.

Glad you got it. I was expecting a " The Beatles didn't do a greatest hits album" reply from someone who had never watched the genius from Norwich.![]()
Hate to be a pedant but, I'm pretty sure AP says (from memory - and haven't seen it for well over ten years):
"...The Best of The Beatles"
Which I'm sure you'll agree, has the remit to be very different from a 'Greatest Hits"
You are correct. Fortunately, unlike some delicate souls on here who obviously don't understand the meaning of the word, I don't call people pedantic for pointing out they were incorrect.
Of course the best of the Beatles could have been their greatest hits. Which, of course, is, as you say, not the case.
You manage to take a fair point and make it your usual boring ****e. Give it a rest, you infest the board with your ****e. Enough ffs.
I suppose 1 is technically a 'greatest hits' as it is all of their UK number ones.

No, Leon was correct. Of course we are talking about an imaginary album that Alan likes so we don't know what was on it.
There was a 20 greatest hits album, which had different versions in the UK and the US as there were some songs which were hits in the US which weren't released as singles here, .Yesterday being the biggest example.
Depends on your use of the word greatest. I Feel Fine, a bit of floss from .Lennon got to number one but Strawberry Fields/Penny Lane, their finest single, didn't. Kept off the top spot by Englebert Humperdinck.
1 has Love Me Do on it which didn't get to number one. Not in this country anyway.
Amazing how much stuff there is to discuss regarding a band which recorded for less than 8 years.
1 is UK and US number ones, I amended it.
The best compilation the Beatles released IMO was Past Masters, which is pretty much all non-album stuff and not a proper 'best of'.
