Bad Watford (H) United (A) Sunderland (H) Swansea (H) West Ham (A) (first half) Hapoel beer (A) Inter (A) Chelsea (H) Inter (H) (first half) Hull (A) Liverpool (H) Sparta (A) Palace (A) Good Sparta (H) Burnley (H) West Ham (A) (second half) Inter (H) (second half) Everton (H) Arsenal (A) (league cup) City (A) How many more 'bad' performances do we have to put up this season? We are developing a common theme of being toothless, predictable, boring and slow under Puel IMO. Even the 'good' games above we should have scored or won by more. How are we so painfully inconsistent and what on earth does Redmond do to warrant a starting place most games?
I'd just have West Ham (A) and inter (H) just down as good. Brilliant results and overall played well in both. Little harsh.
I understand you're upset after today, but seriously....? Did you watch Wednesday's game? About as far as "toothless, predictable, boring, and slow" as you can get. I agree about the inconsistency but it's nowhere near as bad as you're painting it.
And considering the opponents and the form that they were in there is no way that the home team performance against Liverpool can be described as "poor".
We controlled the game without scoring a goal and conceding another poor goal. A definite theme of our season and all three European away games except hapoel beer where we didn't concede.
P Personally felt the first half against inter we wasn't up for it until the penalty incident. West Ham away they were there for the taking from the off. Had Austin not come up with a great finish before half time it could have been a very different result.
Granted, good point, I'll accept that. Still to my point, we have been poor on far too many occasions this season. Simply to lose to hull and palace and draw to Sunderland is awful and IMO not a case of an 'off day'. Added to that Sparta away and it is becoming a trend. Our away form is a real worry to me...
Isn't that the point of a discussion? Your opinion may change over time as other people voice their opinion? It wasn't until I had done the above that I realised how many of the 'bad' performances were away from home that I saw it as an issue. For me, it still isn't as cut and dry as home and away, we aren't exactly blowing teams out the water at home..
Further to that, from a quick look, we've only scored 2 goals or more on 6 occasions this season (we've played 22 games). We simply don't look like scoring and feel we are incredibly toothless and predictable
Would you like me to change the title, as "2 good 2 bad" doesn't really describe any aspect of our form, either home or away?
See Adam Blackmores tweet at 17:47, Puel is blaming the 'poor' pitch for the first goal when it clearly hit forsters planted right foot causing the ball to jump over his swinging left leg Feel free to change it to whatever you wish, or deem appropriate. I didn't pay too much attention to the thread title and took inspiration from the MOTD2 feature
You're being very harsh, Saints away at inter was one of our finest performances in ages. We were also great away at United, and the hull performance we weren't that bad. Only God knows how we didn't win that game. Puel wasn't to blame today, we lost the midfield battle. The players on the pitch are capable of way more than they showed today. People have to remember how Europa league ruins most clubs seasons. The fact that we are ticking along as we are means that Puel is doing well, IMO.
... and we'll really shake them up when we win the Ticking Along cup. Really gets the old blood pumping does a bit of ticking along.
We support saints, all we ever do is tick along. Just wait and see what happens, we have a great squad with a manager that is obviously improving all of our players
We do? We have ONE forward who can score a goal. One. That is not a great squad. Forwards are kinda important. Kinda. He is? Redmond? Ward-Prowse?
The more I think about it the more frustrated I get. Put to one the side the fact that we are struggling to score, the results like today, against hull, Sparta away and inter away are a real issue. We were the better side in all of those games and at worst should have drawn but we managed to lose all 4 and conceded some truly awful goals.
