Saturday 3rd December 15:00, Sunderland host Leicester City at the Stadium of Light.

Last time out Sunderland lost 2-0 at Liverpool while Leicester City drew 2-2 with Middlesbrough.
David Moyes is hoping to add to Leicester City’s away-day blues and says
“I believe we’ve deservedly picked up some good results and it’s now about what we can do next because they’re gone, so we need to quickly think about more points and win the next game, then after that do it again.
“We have to pick up some wins in that period [before January] and if we do that then we can go into the new year with good spirit and look at what we need to do to make sure we’re a Premier League team next year.”

Claudio Ranieri says he is expecting a ‘battle’ when Leicester City travel to Sunderland. The Foxes picked up six points against the Black Cats on their way to winning the title last season, including a 2-0 away success in April, but Ranieri says he is not taking them lightly.
He said: “When we play at home or away, we try to win every match but with the respect of the opponent.
“We know on Saturday that Sunderland has a good chance to get three points against Leicester – the champions of the Premier League.
“We know it’ll be a fight – all 90 minutes and extra-time. They are a good, well organised team with two fantastic strikers. It will be a very good battle. [Jermain] Defoe is a good, experienced player, but not only him.”

Head to Head

The Black Cats are vying to win successive Premier League home fixtures for only the second time in three seasons.

Leicester have not won away since beating Sunderland in April last season. They have yet to take the lead away from home in the Premier League this season, earning one point from six games and conceding 16 goals, the worst away record in the division.

Lawro’s prediction: 1-1

<laugh> they still can't spell Djilobodji.

Leicester City

Leicester midfielder Nampalys Mendy could return from an ankle injury that has kept him out since August. Ben Chilwell is also fit but Danny Drinkwater is suspended and Kasper Schmeichel is still out with a broken hand.

Sunderland
Papi Djilobodji is available after his suspension. Sunderland's Jan Kirchhoff could make his comeback after recovering from a stomach upset.

Fabio Borini and Jack Rodwell remain sidelined. Lee Cattermole is unavailable for at least 4 months. Paddy McNair will miss the rest of the season after rupturing his anterior cruciate ligament. Lynden Gooch is out for 3 months after being stretchered off for the U23s.

We are top of the league <doh>

Betting
Sunderland 23/10
Leicester City 13/10
Draw 9/4

My two new pence...

This is a tough game with Leicester being the masters of the counter attack, however they are not getting much luck this season so I’m looking forward to this game.

I’m going for a 2-0 win. <cheers>

Ha’way the lads.

If Palace (H Southampton), Sunderland (H Leicester) and Hull (A Boro) all win this weekend, the current champions will be 1 point outside of the relegation zone.

I honestly think they could go down. They were absolute dog shyte against Boro last week apparantly.
Im expecting them to spend big in Jan though so theyll probs buy themselves out of it.

me dad said to put of fiver on them reaching the CL final and being relegated in the same season. I should of listened

This time last year Vardy broke the consecutive goal scoring record, Mahrez was linked to Barca and Albrighton and Simpson were getting tipped for an England call up.
What a difference a year makes.

No you shouldn't. They've played against pure ****e in the CL so far. The way they're playing, as soon as they come up against even a half-decent team, they're ****ed.

Gone for a win as they were fortunate to beat us in both games last season and currently they just cannot handle a drop in last season's form.

Their squad isn't big enough to cope with Europe and PL consecutively.

Now they're through they might focus on the PL until Feb when the CL resumes.

I can see them getting marginally better but I don't see anywhere near the commitment they showed last season, or Kante which is a big difference obviously.

Theyll have made another windfall on top of everything they earned from last season by qualifying to the next phase of the CL, so I reckon their gona spend alot of cash to turn it round.

Could do mate, I reckon they're regretting putting Vardy on a £100k and not flogging him now mind.

Whoever they may sign in Jan now knows almost for certain they won't be in the CL next season so they may struggle to get the players they think can push them on.

They tore us new one first game of last season imo. We were all over the shop. I remember it vividly, Coates and Kaboul were a complete disaster and Albrighton did the best job at pulling PVA's pants down I've ever seen.

True enough, but only after we had passed up three chances in the first twenty minutes, we just went piling forward and played beautifully into their counter attack game. DA's harsh introduction to Prem football.

Itll be hard for them to get a big name player but because of their new found fame theyll be a good stepping stone for alot of players wanting to make an impression in the Prem

We had a go yeah, but they were in no way fortunate in winning that game for me, They tore us pieces and they were utterly clinical to boot.

Dick had already been introduced to Prem football. He closed out the last quarter of the season before when he led us to safety.
