Liverpool will 'blow Everton out of the water' to sign Southampton defender Virgil van Dijk, according to former Coventry striker Micky Quinn. The lifelong Red, speaking on talkSPORT, says he believes Jurgen Klopp will move to secure the services of the centre-half as he plots to bring a first Premier League title to Anfield. When asked about interest from the Toffees, Quinn said: "No, don't worry about Koeman. “Liverpool will blow them (Everton) out of the water. That's what I've been told, anyway." http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/liverpool-transfer-news-rumours-reds-9362781
Should he though? How many 18 year olds are regular first team players or even get the odd appearance. He's younger than TAA, Ejaria, Stewart. 1 year olds than Woodburn... are any of those getting regular first team football?
not even in the b side? thats where most will play... theres copa del rey too. he's played 50 odd games for their b side in secundo B. so..... i don't quite get what peoepl expect of the kid. he's not 18 yet and madrid are managing him. I don't see a total flop here. I don't think in the end he will be a star at madrid cos madrdi will simply buy buy but due to ego.
My point is that he's good enough to be playing at a higher level than the Spanish 2nd, if he's playing at a better standard he is developing whereas hes just getting nowhere at the moment. Not saying he's a flop, I'm saying it's a key point in his development and he should be playing at a better level on a regular basis.
Based on? He's not played any first team football bar a few games in Norwegian league. He's obviously a talented kid but he wouldn't get into any Prem first team. Ideal world maybe should have gone somewhere like Ajax where have good record of developing young Scandinavian talent and got more game time but fact he's not even 18 yet, shows still has another couple years before start talking about him as a lost youth.
yeah. i deffo think he ****ed up just goign with the big plane and the big first contract but we will see.
I think from what I've seen and heard he'd do fairly well in a lower PL side. But he should be playing in Serie A (for example) on a weekly basis. The kid is a massive talent, I know he hasn't played much but you only have to listen to the praise he's getting in the game to realise he's in a different league to most kids his age. We'll see, but I agree he's being wasted at RM. Yes he's training with some great players, but he needs to be playing not just training. Either way, his time will come, he's only 18
I'm fairly certain we'll be buying Pulisic and Dahood in the summer. Even more certain if we get top 4. Just from what I've read and heard I'd be very surprised if these 2 don't end up at Liverpool. Can't see it in Jan thought, Pulisic maybe (if we throw enough money about). But summer is much more likely.
They should sell him to Southampton so they can get him up to speed with the Premier League before selling him onto us.
are celtic nowhere? forester van dijk wanyama shaw ox and walcot were locals and lallana too. mane was salzburg there was not so many singings that got sold on that were from nowhre IMO. just good guys and good prices so they can be sold on for profit.
Point one, both good defenders, Tah would be cheaper and VvD will be wanted by quite a few other clubs too, he'll go for more than 40m.. Not sure we'd win a bidding war should those sort of figures come into play! Point two, Dahoud, seen the lad play a few times and to be honest, I see nothing special in his game, he's not given me a Wow moment in all the games I've seen him play, as far as I'm concerned, the jury is out on him! Point three, that would be Pulisic, by all accounts he's one that Klopp wants to back-up Mane and keep him on his toes, the longer it goes without Mane having competition for his place the more chance there is of him becoming complacent, need to keep the entire squad on their toes!
who knows. What I can say is all the power with Van Dijk is with southampton. they would be mad to sell in january. He is contracted til 2022 so.... he will be very expensive Tah is also under a long contract and is a t a club that can resist a bid until its right (2020 contract) Dahoud on the other hand is out of contract in 2018 so the clock is ticking a bit here. Its not compeltely out but there is rumours of low fee buy outs entering last year etc etc. It could be that january is the last chance for a 25mil fee for him so we could get him. If the fee is 10mil in the summer... well.... there will be a queue Pulisic as i said is contracted also to 2019 so there is a clock ticking there but not as urgent for dortmund. I am seeing a list of 75/100 mil here. its not all happening.
Interesting.. http://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/spor...liverpool-news-transfer-rumours-live-12237883 If, buts and maybes... If the above is true, could open up the potential sale of Studge, to Southamption? As part of deal to bring VvD to Liverpool All hypothetical but would people be happy if that scenario played out?
Didnt click the link but if it says sturridge leaving then now. VVD is decent player but shouldn't be going near him for the price especially if it involved giving them Studge.
Link is with regards to our "reported" interest in Mousa Dembele of Celtic.. I then "assumed" we may then entertain the possibility of selling Studge to Southampton in exchange for VvD
