I have to disagree about the idea that nothing matters if you don't win it, otherwise why are most people watching football? I enjoy watching Arsenal even if we don't quite get to where we want to be. I particularly enjoy CL nights and watching Arsenal up against the best Europe has to offer. Was an exciting game tonight and I enjoyed it <ok>

Also think we are unlucky to be second in the group having drawn both games against PSG while doing better against the other teams. One away goal vs one home goal is the only reason they are top instead of Arsenal who have the better GD. It's been a good fight for top spot and still one game to finish it off!

That's a fair point. For the entertainment aspect I agree. But from Arsenal's as a club's point of view, in terms of progress, I don't see any. You may well pick up form, but as it stands it's more of the same flattering to deceive. But I take your point, it's worth watching and being aa part of while you're there.

No comeback from that have you Piskie :)

Yeh we've won it, but you haven't. And I'm bitter. <laugh> Enjoy your Last 16 trophy mate <cheers>

Er no... The comeback is that we've just progressed to the KO stages and Utd aren't even in it.

Hence you're harking back to 1999, giving it your istoreeee like a Scouser <cheers>

If the tables were to stay as they are after the final game:

Top:
PSG
Napoli
Barca
Atletico
Monaco
Dortmund
Leicester
Juventus

Second:
Arsenal
Benfica
Man City
Bayern
Leverkusen
Real Madrid
Porto
Sevilla

Could be some tasty last 16 games.

My money is on Arsenal to draw Barca.

Arsenal v Leicester ?

Arsenal v Leicester ?

Can't draw another English team until the QF.

Napoli or a Monaco rematch would be nice. And a game against Dortmund would be full of goals. I just don't want to play Barca or Bayern again until we absolutely have to! Fed up of playing one of those two every year in the CL even though there have been some exciting games.

Then we can play Leicester in the QF <whistle>

Don't think you can have Leicester in the last 16. That's a bye for anyone who draws them.

Monaco or Napoli would be a good draw, Atletico also blowing hot and cold atm, maybe they're on the slide?

I wouldn't make us favourites, but I'd feel like we are in with a chance to progress if we get anyone other than Barca.

Monaco or Napoli would be my preference. Atletico as you say can be hot or cold, and Dortmund would be a goal fest with the best attacki winning it. Haven't seen any of Juventus this season.

Monaco or Napoli for me please. Looks like this year even topping the group could land you with a tie against Real or Bayern.

The way I see it is that Spurs is the only English team that has avoided getting a whipping in the knock-out stages.

Personally, I am looking forward to some comedy gold moments from all of the English teams who got through. Ordinarily, it's Arsenal who provide us with the best giggles (and the greatest embarrassment), but I am quite hopeful that Leicester may well surpass everything that Arsenal has ever achieved in the European comedy-stakes. And that is really saying something!

So, well done to Arsenal for getting through. I mean that with all sincerity. By which I mean to say that I sincerely look forward to you coming up against Real, Bayern, or Barca in the closing stages.
