Not sure if it's too early for this thread but today has been pretty busy with rumour. Port Vale CB, Barnsley mid-fielder and Huddersfield striker. Why we need another mid-fielder is beyond me and the striker Wells is quoted at £8m!

Nahki Wells for £8m would be decent, imo - especially if we can offload either Naismith or Pritchard to cover it. With Wessi still playing and Madison waiting in the wings, we sure as hell don't need all four of them on the payroll, when there are glaring deficiencies elsewhere on the pitch <ok>

Another rumour Brady to Leicester? He doesn't want to be at CR so let him go for max amount and buy defenders? Also, Jerome Sinclair on loan from Watford other Championship clubs interested.

We'd be better off getting rid of Naismith & Hoolahan & keeping Pritchard & Maddison.

Sell Hoolahan 9 and a half years into his Norwich career and give Turner a 3 year extension . <laugh>

Why what has Hoolahan done in a Norwich shirt that's so great. Anyway it's about the future not the past.

No sell Hoolahan in January if we can. Turner should have gone in the summer

Do you think we would get much for a 34 year old ?

Well if we couldn't get much for him then he's not worth much is he, but my point was I'd rather sell Naismith & Hoolahan than Naismith & Pritchard.

We don't get many players that stay with us for 10 years , I believe he has been a great servant to the club and he deserves a testimonial .

Regretfully, but realistically, I think letting Wes move on is totally in the clubs best interest, and Naismith leaving as well would be a bonus. What matters how long he has been with us, we have paid him several million in that time, but if a testimonial could be arranged then I am all for it.

Just clocked up 300 appearances recently and god knows how many hundred goals and assists :emoticon-0112-wonde
Ironic that as soon as he becomes an integral part of the Martin O'Neill Rep. of Ireland set up, some of our fans are saying he's past his sell by date <yikes> <doh>
And anyway, in my comment #2, I said sll either Naismith or Pritchard to fund a bid for Nahki Wells, I've never suggested selling both. Nor would I, no point going from feast to famine in the no 10 role <ok>

Well, I said I was taking a break from Not606, but there have been some posts that I feel I would like to comment on and this is one that I feel I would love to see come true.
Like ILD, I'm able to see our home games and apart from Wes's contribution in our game against Rotherham, he hasn't done much IMO and other teams mark him so well, that his effectiveness is limited. Naismith has only ever really showed what he can do in his first game against Liverpool.

But surely if we're forming a team team for the future it should never be a choice between a Naismith type player and a Pritchard type player. I don't think the difference between feast and famine is one player, if it is then the criticism of AN in this area is unfair as if we'd sold Naismith to Sunderland then all would be ok?

Hoolahan may have made 300 appearances but he's only shown up for a 100 of those at best.

Interesting that you would like to get rid of Pritchard as it would appear he's the only player in our team that a team in the 2 auto places wanted to buy.

Way I see it is if we'd sold him to Sunderland, we'd have had circa £8m to buy a defensive partner for Klose or a proven striker to help poor old Jerome out - and, had either materialised, most recent conversations would probably be irrelevant, as we'd more than likely not be in the muddle we currently are as a football club <ok>

Trouble is we tried to off load him so late in the window that any money raised would have just gone in the bank.

If we can offload Naismith (hopefully Moyes is still interested), Brady and Olsson (who both want out) that should release enough funds to buy a CB (heard that one before but the old ones are still the best eh ?), a LB and a striker (would like Wells).

We should keep Pritchard and Wes (still has a part to play but I would use him from the bench and start Pritchard instead) and recall Maddison.

A returning Howson and Jarvis (who both seem to try, unlike others) and a bit more use of players such as Thompson and Canos (who he ?) plus the additions as above might just keep us in the play-offs......

Any room in your little world of Utopia for me to come and join you, OCF?
    Please? Pretty please?? ;)

That would be just about as close to ideal as we could realistically hope for, but it needs AN to concede that that's what's needed (big ask!) and then Jezzy baby to earn his corn by attracting suitable identified targets (even bigger ask!!)
And of course all of the above hinges on whether we pick up (m)any more points between now and Dec 31st when the window opens. On current form, we'll be mid/lower table by then and not as likely to convince the right calibre of replacements / upgrades.
