I did too - the kids were brilliant all day. My Head Teacher wants to bottle me - apparently the class have been a tad unruly in my absence & today was the happiest they have been for the last eleven weeks...

You should be honoured - didn't Peter Sellars play that part in the film, and win a BAFTA for it?
Excellent. :)

It was that hero Sellers and he was incredible. Human frailties, but not overplayed; black and white philosophy, with cracks in the ice of his simplistic ideas appearing beneath him; but a decent man. Superb acting skill then couple that with majestic direction and you have one of the all-time great British film characters. I didn't know about the BAFTA - worth a knighthood, I would say. <ok>

Morning, Dave; morning, all. :)
Can't see outside yet, but sounds pissy.

Bit more being an electrician this morning (replacing some double power sockets with ones that have USB sockets too - £10 each or 2 for £15 from Screwfix, and they're really good). Then work work, then off to my sister's tonight with my ice and the boys to meet up with my cousin, who's staying with my sister's family for a few days before his chemo starts. Apparently it's going to be very aggressive chemo for 6 months. He's a hell of a brave young man.

PS I'm leaving the typo in. I wrote 'wife' - iPad changed that to 'ice'. I'm not in any trouble I'm aware of. ;)

My guess would be that the "w" didn't register and as the "f" and "c" are diagonally adjacent that would be a reasonable assumption! <ok>

Few films can have had a better cast than 'I'm all right Jack'. In addition to Sellars...Richard Attenborough, Margaret Rutherford, Terry-Thomas, Liz Fraser, Ian Carmichael, Dennis Price, John Le Mesurier. Comedy gold!

Is Cat Stevens still going? He must be getting on a bit...but then aren't we all? Hope you have a lot of nice things to wear Yorkie :emoticon-0159-music

Has there been a weather warning that might stop him going?

Bit of a moon shadow...can't find his way!
Maybe he should have caught the Peace Train - wouldn't be stuck Miles From Nowhere then...
I see the teaser and the firecat (not necessarily in order ;)) had to reply. Maybe they're father and son? I wasn't going reply to this as we know how these descend into puns and his music was from when I was, oh, very young. But then I thought, "You know what..? I can't keep it in... I can't keep it in... I gotta let it out..." <whistle>

Hope he was as fab as we all expect, yorkshire? My mum used to play his music incessantly in the 70s. :)

Good morning, Dave; good morning, all. :)

Today I will be throwing my old bones around as a goalkeeping coach as our club hosts a football festival. Looking forward to how I'll feel tomorrow. :emoticon-0107-sweat

Matej and Seb will be there to keep Dad company and lift his spirits ("Last time you did that, Dad, it was alright - well, it wasn't that boring..." observed Seb last night). Meanwhile, Mrs Andy <diva> will be making attempts to drink the sports centre dry of tea as part of her preparations for to regain her title as Tea Drinker of the Year. :emoticon-0162-coffe:emoticon-0162-coffe:emoticon-0162-coffe:emoticon-0162-coffe

Morning all, bright and sunny here today, but quite a chilly breeze.
First morning for a week that I haven't jumped straight into building clothes, but I am now a virtual full time worker again, unpaid of course. Massive amount of work to be done still if daughter is to achieve her dream of being in the house for Christmas. While doing this work the cellar has become badly neglected, and you need something to wash the dust down of an evening. Mme will no doubt look very doubtful about the quantity of supplies I intend to get this morning. :emoticon-0108-speec

Ah, I see Morning Has Broken and we're still at it. I wonder if we'll have Another, Saturday Night?

The Beaujolais Nouveau was evident in the supermarket this morning, and despite there being an elderly gent telling everyone how good the vintage was this year, there were no samples.:emoticon-0101-sadsm
Past experience when I had an expensive bottle in a restaurant tells me that a lot of it is not worth the money. Certainly put off by some of the the bottles called Pisse-Noir. <yikes>
