is that he is just too damn good. Where is his best position? on the left cutting in ontohis right foot, but on the wing he can be left out of the game. Free role t roam and create. Or 2nd striker to feed of Lambert, when he was in the championship before he was abit lightweight, but now he has beefed up and is sooo fast I vote for 2nd striker (shame for Connoly who is playing well) but we have talented wingers in oxo and ridder.
He seems to play wherever he wants, where was he playing yesterday? I thought he was on the left, put he popped up from the right for his goal and 'that' chance. Is he officially right footed as well? I just can't describe his dribbling style, he never looks like he has the ball under control but somehow he just walks past players!
Glad he's not quick then. Don't want vultures circling. The difference is that Lallana wants to play for us.
To be honest I don't think he'd be as good if he went to another club, I can see a different manager forcing him out wide, or just up top and him having very little influence on a game.
He's improved massively in pre-season as well! Thats the most i've ever seen him track back and successfully tackle an opponent, no mean feat as on his day Gradel can destroy left backs with years of experience at purely defending. Not to highjack your thread or anything but did anyone else notice hammond seems to be a hell of a lot more muscular than he was last season as well?
The whole team are as lean as racing snakes. Also Nige has got them to play for 95 min, just like WGS.
I think played down the centre, Lallana would do really well in the Premier League. It's not like he's slow, I thought he looked quite quick yesterday.
Well no he's not slow by any means but as he plays out wide, that's his only downfall. Incredible player to watch tough.
Don't know where people get the idea he's slow. He may not have Chamberlain's pace, but he doesn't need it, and anyway, he's not exactly a tortoise. Alex may hit the headlines, but IMO, Lallana is the real diamond in the pack, and beginning to look like a young Le Tissier Mk II [i.e. when Matty was slim].
I think he's best with a free role on the left or on the tip of the diamond. I think Rickie needs a striking partner playing on the shoulder, like Connolly and Barnard, as he often comes deep for the ball.
In the sub-subject: Frazer Richardson is a tank. On the proper subject: Lallana is cracking. I think as RorSFC said, he's best out on the left (allowed to roam) or at the tip. I think Adkins realises that he is a gifted player and lets him roam around the pitch basically doing what he wants as long as he performs his 'winger' duties. He is the gem in our team, the more talk of Oxo the better, takes other teams sneaky peekers off this young lad.
I agree with this totally - Lallana is quality and that is that, he brings so much to the team when he plays. Oh, and on the subject of Richardson, low behold a winger who tries to take him on. He's a beast - built like a rugby player!
I agree, he is the real star and wants to be here! Slightly Le Tissieresque indeed, kind of glides around beeting players, so glad we have him, great lad and wonderful to watch.
i agree with these sentiments, very high praise indeed but without a doubt the closest comparison in terms of ability and importance since Le God IMO. you cant surely get higher praise than that.
I can't help but pray Lallana evolves to be MLT, less in the way of his playing style (though if another Le God were to come along I'm not sure anybody would complain!!) and more in the way of his loyalty. I've been outspoken enough today in the way of refusing to condemn Chamberlain's move away, but Lallana leaving would hit me a lot harder. By far the most important player in our squad.
