Morning all, no sign of our feathered friend. Hope he is ok. Painting finished for the moment, so moving on to floor tiling. My aged knees will be complaining this evening. Have a good day.
Morning all from Jersey. I have a work day with a difference today. Instead of the usual 10 - 15 minute walk, I have to go to the relative wilds of St. Saviour as I'm taking part in a test at our disaster recovery site. The bus route to get there is familiar as it's the same one I used when I had to attend meetings at the senior school youngest went to.
A bleary-eyed good morning from me. Up at an ungodly hour to get ready for my first day at work since June...
Morning all, off to remove a very old staircase this morning. It is made of oak and looks pretty heavy to me. It is a shame that it could not be renovated, but after it really is beyond that stage. Think I will take my hard hat with me, which is white not red.
Hello one and all from a stressed out Canary. My laptop died Saturday evening, my nice lads t our local laptop shop spent several hours trying to fix it on Monday then couldn't repair it because the motherboard was kaput I bought a nearly new recon lappy from them for £140 and they transferred my data over and only charged me the £140. Looking at it now, if they'd told me it was brand new, I would have believed them!
Glad to see you back Canary, glad it was only problems with the laptop. Hope you enjoyed being back at school BB. My staircase removal went to plan, but despite taking it apart piece by piece it was still very heavy. Looking at the way it was put together showed that it was built to last. Splendid bit of joinery.
Cheers andy - it went 'as I expected' (in-service day, so a tad boring). The real thing starts tomorrow...
Once back in the classroom with the chn and your colleagues, I'm sure you'll feel at home right away. Became union rep yesterday, as we needed to organise at our place of work. My dad already called me Fred Kite so he'll have a little more material to work on.
Morning all, grey and damp in this part of the country today. Mme was asked to take part in a telephone survey about how much Brits have integrated into French life. No leading questions, just her opinions asked for. This is the first time I have known anyone be asked for their views on a subject, and sometimes wondered if people were actually involved.
I did too - the kids were brilliant all day. My Head Teacher wants to bottle me - apparently the class have been a tad unruly in my absence & today was the happiest they have been for the last eleven weeks... You should be honoured - didn't Peter Sellars play that part in the film, and win a BAFTA for it?
