I think

8 years ago i think obama was elected for change.

This time round he was proven not to have changed things and clinton was seen as yet more for the 1%

I find it odd anyone chose trump for change but i feel that some or actually a lot voted cos he spoke like nobody else.

I feel the lot will be disappointed cos theres a serious about face occurring already.

However people need to stop dismissing brexiters and trumpets.

They voted to be listened to. the less they get listened to the more extreme they will go to get heard... same in france etc.

The 1% have too much power, too much wealth and those from the pig **** shovellers to the middle class pencil pushers are all sick of paying for it all.

The liberal ultra pc media dont want to objectively report either. they just push their view.

Simple. as long as this continues theres a spiral going to happen.

Who the **** in 4 years time will be put up to trymp when everyone brays for change again.
I really wish people would stop lumping Brexit and the Trump election together, they are completely different things.
One was a Country/Union deciding they didn't want to be governed by or beholden to the rules of many other countries but to choose their own path. The other was to pick a famous face to front the usual men in power.

Both are populist movements led by the old and the uneducated going against common wisdom and justified by a nationalist agenda that cuts off the proverbial nose to spite the face.

Piss poor showing when two of the most powerful countries in the world have so many uneducated. Time for change I say, unless of course they are more educated than you think.
Common wisdom? not that common it seems.
Ever thought that those who lost may be wrong?
Democracy in action, would you prefer a dictator state (as long as the dictator agreed with you)?

Both decisions were made by an electorate with apparently little understanding of the politics of power and labouring under the delusion that their vote would somehow improve the lot of the little man, when in reality it doesn't matter who's at the top, it's those at the bottom that get it in the neck.

Amen to that.
The fact is we (and the Americans) live in a democracy, we even have the right to protest when votes don't go our way but, to call the majority uneducated is far too up oneself.
We all like to think we are right (I love to), that is far different to calling our opposition uneducated. I guess I just bite against those who think (for some obscure reason) they are better than others <ok>

It is a bit facile to label anyone who disagrees with you as uneducated, but God I do wonder sometimes.
I saw a video on a newspaper website (don't remember which one) where Farage was arguing with the woman involved in the legal battle over the triggering of Article 50.
Underneath, the comments ranged from things like "She's not even from this country" and "Tell her to go home" to "The bitch should be shot" and stuff like this.
Now I know that not everyone who voted Leave is like this, but I'm dismayed that there are apparently so many. The relative anonymity of the internet strips away the veneer of civilisation and we see the mentality of those we live amongst. I think calling them uneducated is actually a mitigation, because I'd hate to think that this is the attitude of educated, modern people.

It's called "sound bites", show the most outrageous clips to provoke a response. You must have read football headlines

You sound like Peter Hitchens. In response I again cite Paul Mason - under no circumstances should we pander to racists and bigots who beat up Poles, sneer at mixed relationships and whigne, like those from Sedgefield in that documentary I previously mentioned, that 'immigrants' are to blame for them not being able to get work or a hospital appointment... in an area that is 98.2 % English white. 'Liberal elite' my arse.

Does that mean we're going to cancel Trident and leave NATO?

No we should not. but 55million people are not racists nor are all that vited brexit are they.

And they are all being dismissed as said racists. the only way to stop this extreme choices is to understand why and who and the more well... decent candidates wirk for change.

That top 1% were all over hillary and trump posed as an outsider. hence he won imo. thats only one aspect.

You miss the point about the liberals btw. this was about those who seem to want to let anything be if simeone feels like it and frankly are aghast thst hillary is nit their first woman president.

Im sorry but if she had been male the bang of goldman sachs of her and the emails would have ended her ages ago.

These same liberals make it ok for exploiters like kanye and kim milk the stupid with their brand of sluttery and the same can be said if the jeremy kyles and geordie shores over here. anything goes byt yet... people react in their millions and vote for trump/pence

And on it will go until finally somone really dangerous gets power cos nobody listened. hopefully trump is not it

I'm with mito here. People are not happy with the status quo and at the rich. Social media nowadays has meant its is much clearer what is going on in the world and whether there is truth or not in half the information spouted, it is easy to share that information to get people angry.

20 odd million voted for brexit, however million voted for trump. These peoples voices are not being heard and they are making it known. You say poles are getting beat up and racist attacks are on the rise, brexit and trump getting in might have enabled that but you arent seeing 20 million attacks etc. In fact i would be surprsed its its even in the thousands so far but the liberal media wont let you know that

There is only one real "class" system and that is wealth so how does he qualify as being different?

What do you mean by "liberal media"?
Do you mean those elements within the media that tend to be liberal or are you homogenising the whole of the media and saying they all display a liberal agenda?

By the way - about 17.5 million voted to leave, not "20 odd million". Out of a 46.5 million electorate.

Liberal media i guess was a bad term to use. We all know papers like the daily mail are probably the worst in demonising immigrants. As for 17.5 or 20m, was off the top of my head and was to illustrate the point that there are far many more people who voted brexit than there are racist attacks or racism going on.

People would have you believe 17.5m people are racist and are now going to beat up immigrants when the number of racist attacks are probably not in the thousands (I'm guessing here).

Even now, its being passed off as people are stupid without really looking into why they voted one way other than they are scummy thick racist chavs

People always tend to polarise arguments. I doubt many intelligent people think all Leave voters are racist, either active or closet, but some incidents in the wake of the referendum have shown an uncomfortably large number of them.
I would always put it down to fear, more than anything, and a feeling of loss of identity and of control. I think these feelings are unfounded, for reasons I've been over before and don't want to repeat. I think we've made a backward step, but I accept that others don't see it that way.
I understand that genuine Leave voters don't want to be lumped in with the cretinous racist types because they voted the same way for different reasons. In the same way I really resent the accusation of my generation having sold the subsequent ones down the river. Lazy stereotyping and finger-pointing is a sadly common occurrence when people don't get the result they want.

Still think we've made a big mistake, though. <ok>

Oh how I wish we could go back several months before those catastrophic votes.
The world was such a wonderful place then with no racial attacks, equal rights for women, the media was always truthful honest and nice, politicians were respectful to each other, Joe public was very politically aware and trusted our political system. The thing I miss most of all is the equal distribution of wealth, nobody was at the bottom of the pile then as everyone had enough money to do what they wanted in life.
Oh yes life was great back then.

An outsider to what?
There is only one real "class" system and that is wealth so how does he qualify as being different?

I think he somehow convinced every person who voted for him that he was an outsider to the political elite in Washington and so not in the pockets of the rich corporations.

It's a he's not a politician therefore he will be different philosophy he spouted
