Mario Balotelli has aimed a sly dig at fans of former club Liverpool, claiming Nice's supporters generate a better atmosphere than them, writes Mirror Football's Liam Corless.
The Italian striker left Anfield in the summer to join French side Nice, who currently sit three points clear at the top of Ligue 1.
Balotelli has played a significant part in Nice's early-season success with seven goals to his name in nine appearances.
By contrast, the 26-year-old managed just one Premier League goal in his single season at Liverpool.
Despite gaining a reputation throughout his career for his troublesome attitude, Balotelli finally seems to have settled at Nice and is enjoying the warmth of the club's supporters.
"Frankly, of all the clubs I've played at, these supporters generate the best atmosphere I've ever seen," Balotelli told Telefoot. "It's cool. I'm happy when people like me."
