It'll be interesting to see what they will be like 40 years on. Looking forward to it.

On the whole, I feel excited about Olly and Bircham coming back. Maybe it's just the nostalgic part of me and the times they represent, or maybe it's because we get 2 great songs back, but hopefully it'll prove that the right conditions, brought together at the right time, equal a positive result.

Finding it hard to understand how people are putting their hoops heart before common sense.
Holloway, with all due respect, is a has been. I've laughed at his humour and he is one of our own, but quite honestly we are deep in the **** and it's no time to be appointing someone on a romantic fans gesture. This is no time for sentimentality, we are as near relegation as we are play-offs - and in a form that is taking us closer to the relegation zone.
If this happens, this board has completely lost all traces of sense and credibility!

I can quite understand why the board would make an appointment like this.

They've been increasingly criticised for recent appointments and the temptation to find someone that appeases the masses would remove some of that flack.

Clement presumably would have ticked most boxes (except maybe wages and availability).

Sherwood would leave Les massively exposed and another failure would probably not just cost the manager his job but said DoF too.

If there wasn't too much to choose between the rest then a crowd favourite would at least give the new man some time.

It will be interesting to see if this is a stop gap appointment until the Summer or one with longer aims (although I think we'd still see a 12 month rolling contract).

I'm sure I'm not alone in not being thrilled with the prospect of Ollie given the full list offered by the bookies but am warming to the idea pretty quickly and I have a suspicion that that is the point.*

*Assuming the job is his now.

I cannot believe this! Mouse called me tonight to tell me the bad news. It's like Groundhog Day.
Seriously how can anyone want Hollowhead back? He was cr@p back then and got worse after us.
Forget about youth set up. just get the talented kids tell them to eat 1000 pies and you have a readymade Brett Angel! Bring along a neck brace because you won't be watching the ball on the ground anymore.
Fernades is a t@@t and now lost my support. Such a bad move by QPR, will they ever learn.

I'm already getting some serious stick from some of my Millwall supporting mates, it's hard to see how this can be an improvement. We can only hope he does a 'Blackpool' on us but I'm not holding my breath...

If it really is to be Ollie and Bircham then I'm going to buck the trend of the majority of posts and say that I'm quite excited. Dunno why, and I've reached the conclusion some time ago that you should never go back because it rarely works, but I reckon Ollie is right for this club right here, right now. I would be surprised if he leaves the club in a worse condition than it is in currently.

Having said all that, and knowing how this club operates, I expect to see Chris Ramsey re-unveiled as Dream Manager this morning.

Agreed. Right person, right time. The way I see it, we have Ollie until the end of the season and already have Clement in place when he finishes at Bryan Munich. If that is the case, it's a shrewd move by TF et al.

Getting these two back gives us instant soul regardless of unimportant things like trying to get promoted this year

Faurlin and Taarabt back as well and our fan base is glued on

It just remains for us to accept

Can you imagine watching a game with those two making their second debuts with the madness of IH and MB who loves Adel and Faurlin

Taarabt at 15 stone would walk on the pitch and piss it plus I wager he would have at least 5 goal attempts and Faurlin would eat any player in this division

    Do it please

In fact I have made this known to Lee Hoos this morning as I believe it would be a positive club action for the fans

Fans didn't want Tim/Robinson/freedman etc, so we could end up with Ollie, looks like clement turned us down & rowett was never going to happen, who's left? Personally I would have liked zola but I'm fine with Ollie & gives us passion back, probably contracted until end of season but will see, I'll give him my support.

Killing Joke and The Buzzcocks both played in Belfast last week- a bit of nostalgia is no bad thing mate.

So is this until the end of the season then - just as a stop-gap until the "dream manager" is available??

I was only watching Olly at the weekend on Sky and thought, "poor old Olly, didn't really work for him at Millwall - he's must've given up on management now and is sticking with the punditry". It never even crossed my mind he'd be brought back, even as a temporary solution.

Pretty sure I read on here the other day that someone here had seen them recently. It might have been on LFW though.

Another couple of fine bands. I remember seeing KJ a couple of times early days. Very powerful.

I hope the club continue it's policy of these Rolling Contracts for Managers.

If Holloway meets his performance targets, he should then get a 12 month extension.

Time for Managers and Players alike to start earning things again.

Tooting if they bring Holloway back I would ask why they sacked JFH? I would have rather have Ramsey if it's only until the end of the season. Those fans wanting him back obviously have forgotten Vauxhall Moters/Luton away/Wolves at home? Totally inept. Honestly mate I cannot believe this.<doh><doh><doh><doh><doh><doh><doh><doh>
