A few Cheltenham thoughts: Nice and fresh in the autumn is the time to catch Astracad and he looks back down to a winning mark in the veterans chase. I have Barters Hill in my ATR stable so will be hoping for victory. Theinval looks a big threat, having a nice pull in the weights with Rock The Kasbah from Chepstow. In the Neptune trial I have a sneaky feeling for Paul Nicholls' Pilansberg at 10/1. Was workmanlike at Fakenham but I think he'll come on a ton for that.
How is Rock The Kasbah a 6/1 chance tomorrow? He is a 150 hurdler who has already shown that chasing can be his game. I'm a big fan of Barters Hill but he has plenty of opposition here. Tough days racing from first glance.
Rock the Kasbah for me tomorrow. Extra furlong, race fit and showed his liking for the fences. Edit - I also think West Approach is improving with every run, Thistlecrack didn't set the world alight until he was older aswell i think he has the same trait. 3lbs better off with Wholestone think he will go close.
That novice chase does look tasty and I'm going to throw my hat into the ring and say ITS'AFREEBEE 5/1 will beat the lot. Impressive on his chase debut and the trainer is red hot at the moment. Will be taking on Barters Hill for the lead so my main concern is that they may cut each other's throat. NEXT SENSATION 10/1 is a big price for a horse who won the 2015 Grand Annual off 9lb higher. Bit of a leap of faith but 10/1 is too big to ignore. WHOLESTONE 9/2 dealt with West Approach over 3m here last time and should cope better with the drop back in trip. Again, NTD is in cracking form so I fancy this to follow up. I will be throwing in DEBECE 8/1 and TROIKA STEPPES 11/1 to make up a juicy L31. Good luck all and so happy we can finally say that NH is back!!
I'll be backing Sizing Tennessee 12/1 in that novice chase. From what I know of him from his time at Willies and Henry's he was always a chaser in the making. Extremely difficult to get right, if old boy Tizzard has him fit to go he could well rout this field. I hope he can show his true ability this year after a very troublesome few seasons. Perhaps the change of scenery and a different method can work. I'd expect 3 miles will be needed soon but this looks a good starting point. Note: a huge leap of faith is required with ST. He's not straight forward or at least wasn't and on chase debut it's best to be cautious but he has potential to be a top class fencer.
Even though he's likely the best horse in the race I don't think 2/1 for tomorrow is that generous based on the fact Pauling has been pretty adamant in telling people he'll need the run. Of course there's every chance he's doing 'a Nicholls' and simply putting us all away but seeing how much his bumper horse Le Breul came on for a run I think he may just be telling the truth! Tricky race that and one I'll not be parting the hard earned on. Two I will be playing are 2.40 Cheltenham Peregrine Run 7/1 Readily brushed aside a Mullins C lister the last day, I think if he replicates that run here he'll be hard enough to kick out of the frame so an each way punt for me. 3.15 Cheltenham Runyon Rattler 16/1 Another each way play here. I was speaking to the trainer last summer and he told me he was bringing him over for this race but obviously there were issues and he didn't run but he's finally getting his chance this year. High enough in the weights but he's classy enough for this level when he gets a sound surface. Paul Townend's only ride.
Scrap that - just read Nicholls on Betfair and he thinks this might be one for handicaps later in the season - be surprised if he is therefore up to winning this.

Up 9lbs but once again this front runner could have erm all at it along way from home and the local trainer knows how to get them ready Cheers.

My self-exclusion ends at 15.03 tomorrow afternoon Woolly. Actually it ended last Saturday but they have an additional 7 days "cooling off" period. Might have a selective dabble on Sunday mate
