Agreed, we should only have gone backwards by 6 years, and put Warnock in charge.

Would have preferred Sherwood to Holloway, Rowell, Freeman, Robinson....

Ollie and Bircham. Yes please. A bit of passion which is what we have lacked since NW was in charge.

Not sure who the right man is, certainly not against Olli, at least he will genuinely care unlike jfh, arriving, Sparky etc.

Perhaps that wouldn't be a bad compromise, to see out this season, to stabilize us with the current pool of players, since we're likely not going up nor down, just more mid table mediocrity, then perhaps land that elusive "dream manager" for next season (Paul Clement).

But at least we will get some soundbites to get excited about

    And he does care

He will do better than JFH with team motivation

Much more of this mid table mediocrity in the Championship with mediocre run of the mill Championship or lower League Managers, and no ambition, could well see us in League 1 next season.

Now coming round to Oslo's ideas...Ollie is good at this level (Blackpool/Crystal Palace).

    And he cares

And he does sound bites...and he is funny

It has not been fun here recently

The guy is QPR through and through, he's often admitted he's a fan on Sky. He has the passion, knows the club...and it will be a lot more fun..........hopefully.

I remember us singing "Holloway's blue and white army" for almost an entire match - shows how popular he was at the time.
Glad SLF talked Sherwood into a DoF role - probably told him what a cushy number it is.

Here's an interesting article by Clive Whittingham, I might even change my mind about Holloway if what CW says about him is true regarding footballing style ...

Runners and riders for QPR’s annual manager hunt, 2016 edition – Column
Wednesday, 9th Nov 2016 19:36 by Clive Whittingham
QPR looking for a new manager? Must be November again. Allow LFW to run you through a field where inspiration is in short supply.

    Ian Holloway 5/4

    Age – 53 >>> Current Club – Unattached >>> Previously Managed – Bristol Rovers (P246, WP 36.44%), QPR (P252, 39.68%), Plymouth (P71, 39.44%), Leicester (P32, 28.13%), Blackpool (P161, 38.51%), Palace (P46, 30.43%), MIllwall (P62, 22.58%)

    Pros:
    - Already a QPR club hero both as a player, where he was a vital member of Gerry Francis’ successful Premier League side of the early 1990s, and as a manager, where he took over a club in administration and subsequently rebuilt it in the Second Division before re-establishing it in the First.
    - A well-known bubbly character with plenty of humour rolled into his management, could provide the players with an immediate lift around the training ground.
    - Has developed as a manager tactically since he was last at QPR, switching his ‘out ball’ from a long punt in behind full backs to a cross field switch to a winger on the opposite side after studying Roberto Martinez’s methods at Swansea. More attacking than when he was last here, and certainly more attacking than Hasselbaink was.

I'm not opposed to Holloway taking the job on a contract until the end of the season.

His brief should be, keep the team in the division, and get the team playing with a bit of passion.

    Then we re-evaluate.

Completely agree. I'd love him to then succeed and take us up as he did with Blackpool, but this time with the infrastructure and finances to stay up and build on it.

Lots of comments about Ollie, but what about Bircham? He has more passion about the Rs than our last 4-5 managers put together. With him and Ollie I can see us making the play offs...................seriously!!! Well happy!!!
