Depressing. For me the problem seems to be that every political party wants to fight dirty at the lowest common level.

We keep blaming the people but they never get the option to vote for anyone dignified and considered as opposed to cretinous mudslingers.

If we can, just for a moment, let’s ignore what any of us think about the issues and the results. Instead, consider this…

The Brexit referendum result was 52% of the popular vote beating 48% of the popular vote - resulting in 17 million of us getting 100% of the decision and affecting the whole 64 million who live in our country.

The US Presidential result is (with 93% of the votes counted so far) 47.8% of the popular vote for Trump and 47.4% for Clinton - resulting in 58 million Trump voters (against 57.4 million for Clinton) electing their next president. That’s a small margin to get 100% of the decision and affect the lives of all 320 million Americans, isn’t it?

And I really do mean try and ignore which point of view or which person won. I'd be asking the same question if it had been the other way round, too.

Teacher - "Everyone, tell the rest of the class what your parents do."

Jimmy (when it comes to his turn) - "My dad's works as a Sadomasochist prostitute in a male striptease bar."

When class ends, the teacher goes to the little boy.

"Why did say your father was a sadomasochist prostitute in a male striptease bar, Jimmy? I'm sure that can't be true."

Jimmy - "Actually, he's an executive in a market research and polling company, Miss - but I was too embarrassed to say."

To be clear, at the time I posted, the count was at 93% and they hadn't yet counted all the votes. I'll revisit it later and see if I can work it out.

I wonder if they will have a court case to stop it happening?

I am avoiding Facebook page today because I cannot believe the amount of my friends who seemed to think they were U.S political experts and know exactly what some bloke in Ohio needs.

At least we may get a trade deal now!

Seems that Stock Markets in Europe have recovered from early losses and most currencies have marginally strengthened against the Dollar........not the wild falls that we saw following Brexit........

Maybe it's not the doomsday scenario.......

Well, we can hope. But won't the people who voted for him (and my mates in the States are saying people wanted change at any price) get pissed off, just like the Brexit voters who think they are being cheated?

I'll have that, but from the article the Brextards find it very upsetting. Excellent. I hope they make it very expensive so only a few of us in the elite can afford it and it gives us the right to appeal to the European Court of Universal Justice and Vengance when planning permission for our extension is turned down.
