Missed most of it, but caught the bit about how Maya has improved because he has been played and how you cannot just play Virgil and Fonte for every game. And no injured player will be back for the Hull game.
So this is pretty disappointing. Maybe I'm a soft touch, and I realise other global sporting brands have had the finger pointed at them morals wise, but being anti-poaching it's frustrating to see a brand we're so heavily associated with, condoning such things as this.
Nothing illegal going on here (unfortunately). It's part of the culture in large areas of America and it's an American brand of course.
Oh yeh, unfortunately I realise it's nothing illegal. I also realise someone's got to manufacture and brand the gear that they use. There's just something about a girl posing next to a beautiful stag with a huge crossbow next to her, that riles me up the wrong way.
I agree....I was horrified when I saw recently that UnderArmour backed this kind of hunting as a sport. People hunt all over the world, but using crossbows or bows and arrows (when you aren't an aboriginal hunting for food) is wrong.
For me that's a deal breaker right there. You hunt for food, not pleasure. If you're desperate, you hunt [or gather enough berries]. Don't want my football club associated with a sports clothing company that supports sports/pleasure hunting. I'm sure the Wycoming Whitetail got a heck of a lot of pleasure dying for that photograph.
http://www.footballtransfertavern.c...ransferTavern (The Transfer Tavern Home Page) A blog showing that stats can be read to mean anything. Opta shows that we have lost more points from a winning position than any other side. The author suggests that this means our strikers are doing their bit and the defence is poor. I feel the opposite. Our defence lets in few goals, but, if you are not scoring better, a single goal can lead to a draw or a loss. Oh, for Rickie Lambert in his prime.
Good that he is popular with the players, especially those he has given a chance to Being popular not essential, but it helps.
Rumours still circulating about us selling Virgil to United in January. Even if we wanted to sell him, why would we sell him midseason when he would fetch the same price or more in the summer.
Can't see that happening in January, summer certainly if the price is massive due to the length of his contract/age etc Will be gutted to see yet another brilliant CB disappear but that's the life of a Saints Fan unfortunately
We wont sell in January. There is no situation where we would do so. If the money was too good to turn down, well then that would still be the same in the summer. Personally I think we will keep him beyond this season anyway, but no chance of a January move for sure.
He will never be sold in January...because we need him and the money will still be there in the summer. However, I hope we will keep him for longer.
A classic example of Merson's logic when talking about Virgil: "I'm surprised nobody has come in for him, when Stones has gone for £50m, there you've got more of a finished article than Stones. The way things are going, I'd say he's worth £30m". Excuse me but by that logic he should be worth more not less.
http://www.fansnetwork.co.uk/football/southampton/news/44258/ Ugly Inside piece talking about Fonte's obscure utterances. Not that obscure....sounds like he is trying to keep several doors open at once. He respects Saints, but he is not going to say 'never' to a move to United (just in case).
