Scary thing is I remember this thread starting and I remember reading through it all, I didn't remember it was nearly 5 years ago, I would have sworn 2 maybe 3 at the most.
Do they also have to be so mercilessly spiteful, even to the point of losing their own money? You'll just have to take my word ford this (a hard thing to do on the tinternet I know). The Allams hate us. They didn't get get what they wanted when they bought us, which was the freehold of the KC. Their plans turned to **** and they blame City fans for not backing them up against the council. To cut a long story short, yesterdays attendance was around the 14,000 mark. We are a EPL club. Make of that what you will Football is pretty much ****ed mate and it's not just Hull City.
Couple of years ago Wigan were getting their usual 7.000 like the sunday village team they are. But they spent years in the prem earning oodles and having good contracts they could turn off if relegated. FA hada go at the owner and he told em to fook off and he gave the club to his grandson. FA nearly killed poor old Dave Whelan with the criticism of him being a racist which he totally wasnt. We could never compete with Wigans Prem money and that was only a tiny club
My name goes back to BBC606 days. I joined BBC at the start of the 2007 season when our first game was away at Tranmere and I remember travelling there in a mini bus - we were not sure if we'd even put a team out (and we won 1-2 ) I thought it would take until 2020 to get back into the top of the Prem, challenging for European places and competing in Europe again. That was my vision for us. So 2020vision, as its also a term used to mean perfect eyesight (which, where Leeds is concerned, I certainly do not have - ) I thought 13 years to get back to the top was conservative then...... didn't reckon with Bates, GFH, Cellino etc etc
I used to be Wickersley White on the old BBC 606. Didn't give it much thought at the time, there were loads of others on there with "InsertPlaceNameHere White" as a name so I followed suit as that's where I was born. But as I'd moved away from Yorkshire when I was a nipper it seemed inappropriate so I changed it to Dirty Leeds to match my avatar thingy.
I don't really get much time these days Elland, but I still keep up with what's going on when I can. More of an observer now.
I was also on the BBC site from yonks ago and remember Wickersly White when he was a boy, 2020 and I had a few conversations, but Ristac as always been a cnut and I remember Shaks when he was sober well one afternoon. Ah good old L1 days and the 15 points season happy days.
