You can only narrow it down to area/town/city at best and even then its a rough guide.
Some ISP's NAT the ip so you dont even get a public ip as such....you only have around 4 billion IPV4 addresses available with more users than ip, unless of course its IPV6 which is even harder to work out and track as far as i recall.
Also sometimes the original ip isn't presented as layer 2 and 3 traffic only forwards on its own ip in the packet as the requester and is only interested in the last hop and the next hop address. The only way to be certain is to use something like fiddler software for packet sniffing to be 100% certain of the original requester.
I am sure a half decent hacker could find out who is behind the Hiag/Saints accounts as IP addresses and VPN are **** all to them !

If only it was as simple as you put it! VPN is very secure so would take a while and even then its not always successful.
Back in the day when we mods had the facility to check posters ip addys you could check quite easily but some used stealth programmes that would bounce it around 15 different countries and that was impossible to track other than knowing they were using it. The only reason for people using such a programme is for abuse or other forms of depravity. So I wouldn't put to much credence on checking, although the chuckle twins might but clearly they don't have the nous to do so.

Anyway back on thread track ... off to London for a posh lunch at an event hosted by a specialist software development company in my field... better than having to work in the office...
It is and it's frustrating too but he has to do it. We all like the bantz but with him it's idiot this and arsehole that etc he brings it on himself, he can't stop. If he wanted to stop he could put most of the lads on ignore and move on therefore ensuring order but you know he'll never do it because he loves it pure and simple. Sad but that's the reality of it.

Yes it is and something clearly needs to happen to ensure peace and normality. Robby came up with a good solution yesterday that was widely missed. Why not get a super mod to put them both on ignore for six months so no one can cheat and see how it goes. It won't stop them from posting what they want as they won't see each other's posts. I thought it was actually reasonable!
