Lots of people! Germans have a sense of humour, it's just not the same as the traditional English one. I think that's true of lots of countries and a lot of humour really doesn't translate well. Gladbach have done a great job with this little run, though. Nice to see a club that doesn't take itself too seriously. Beer, sausages, heavy metal and cheap, quality football? Sounds good to me.
Watching the City v Barca game and it's clear that UEFA need to introduce the Premier League rules on intimidating or disrespecting match officials. I don't think that they've got it 100% right, but the difference is stark. Constant snide moaning and sniping all round. It's embarrassing. Edit: Barca's away kit is also embarrassing. It looks like it was designed by a young girl.
Nicely worked equaliser by City. Barca pissing about at the back and they're caught out. Both goals have come from defensive mistakes, really. Quite different, though.
Mayor of London Sadiq Khan has ordered an investigation into the finances of London Stadium after being told the total cost of converting the arena for use by West Ham has soared by £51m more than previously revealed. It takes the total cost of the stadium to £752m, all of which has been met by the taxpayer apart from a £15m contribution from West Ham. Mayor Khan announced his investigation after Sky News learned that the estimated annual cost of moving "retractable" seats, installed to improve the view for football, has risen to £8m, and that moving the seats back and forth for summer events including athletics could take a month. The original estimate was it would cost just £300,000 and take only five days to move the seats at the end of the football season and another five to move them back after the summer. Engineers now estimate it could take 15 days to move the seats in each direction. Oh, look.A non-Tory politician has looked at the colossal balls-up and waste of money this stadium represents and wants to know what the fecking hell has been going on?
It's obvious that both the goons and city will both win cos Barca are playing like Sunderland and Ludicrous gits are completely ****!
Eventually, the bloody obvious conclusion that this whole saga is dodgier than the Spammers defence will be accepted by even The Daily Mail and The Express. There will be a public enuiry, Whether we're still alive to see its findings of nepotism, dodgy dealings, funny handshakes and brown envelopes stuffed with donations, is the only issue.
They'll probably blame Lord Seb Coe and some random council members, then move on. Nobody will be prosecuted and the West Ham owners donating to the Tories won't be mentioned.
City and Barca have some great players, but neither of them can defend for ****. Every time one of them attacks or especially when they break, it looks like they're going to score. Great to watch, but Alan Hansen will be doing his nut!
