We concede the midfiled with three in the middle, how is putting 2 against 3 every week improve that? We need to give defoe a partner I agree with that. But we need to keep 3 in the middle, given we've still got fullbacks who can't defend 352 seems the right way for me. None of that matters a jot if we keep gifting goals by our CBs.

If you're adrift much more by January, you should do what Villa should have done last season and that is to start assembling your side for next season in the Championship, instead of just sitting there and not spending anything, it'll give you a huge advantage going into next season if you have a squad that know each other.
