Big mistake for the FBI director to word it as he did. Basically he is covering his arse. since he informed Congress that the investigation was over he had to correct that statement. Apparently the emails aren't to or from Clinton. they were on a shared laptop of one of her state department aides. there's no evidence to suggest any classified material was accessed or present on the laptop as it seemed to be information accessed from a non classified state department server. While I don't think the FBI director was being politically biased in the manner of his announcement, by covering his arse in such a vague way he might well have effected the outcome of a presidential election. it would be Ironic if after Trump claiming an FBI stitch up, FBI incompetence hands him votes lol..
Yeah, agreed that he was face saving after the criticism he and the FBI has received from the GOP senators and Fox News in particular. If Trump wins the election because of the backlash of this info release and Clinton ends up in the clear with no case to answer its a disgrace. Got to laugh at the preposterous idea that Comey was between a rock and a hard place, in that if he didn't announce a further investigation before the election he'd be blamed again by Republicans that he was covering the case up. Er, that may well have been the accusation, but The Attorney General had told him NOT to publicise as it would break the law; so any subsequent accusation wouldn't hold water as he'd have had a Get Out Of Jail Free card to play - "Sorry, but I was advised by the AG that I couldn't release that information'. It's utterly, utterly bent. As said, I hate Hilary and would have preferred Sanders (though he'd never get elected), but the FBI haven't even READ the e-mails yet. The idea that Clinton could be embroiled in a criminal case while in office holds no more water than Trump could be arraigned by the IRS for tax avoidance. By the way, could there have EVER been a potential Commander In Chief who made a virtue of the fact that he could send his armed forces into combat and peril whilst being proud that he avoided paying the taxes to arm and support them?
