Only 4 teams have seen their season die after winning it out of the last 11 winners.

4 of the other winners have ended up winning the title and 3 have come runners up. So I don't really agree with your logic.

Those three teams all had squads capable of competing on more than one front - something which couldn't be said for the likes of Spurs, Liverpool, Birmingham, Swansea et al, which is why having players put their feet up for the last dozen or so fixtures can be fatal - especially in Birmingham's case as their players easing off got them relegated.

That's the issue with us at the moment: we don't have a squad that can compete on multiple fronts as there's gaps in our squad, notably the lack of cover for Eriksen or Dembele, and add to that Janssen's teething troubles that means we're not covered up front either.

Fair points tbh...guess I am just frustrated at the thought of another trophyless season

You've won two trophies in 25 years. It's not like you're Arsenal or Chelsea who actually should be winning trophies every season.
