Personally I wouldn't like to win whatever the League Cup is called this season, because more often than not it means players put their feet up for the rest of the season.Watching United and City gives me a feeling they both want to win the tournament (as do their fans!) Looks like they can turn out their best teams while we cannot.
Remember when we were regarded as one of the cup kings?....and now.....!......wouldn't our fans like to win the FL Cup?Of course they would.
We seem to be just concentrating on "winning" the PL and making money getting in the CL and that's about it......and usually failing at that.
When the brickwall teams like Leicester start winning the Leagues....it makes you wonder!

It happened to us after the last couple of times we won it, it happened to Swansea, it happened to Birmingham - in short, it's the Europa League of domestic cup competitions, because unless you have a squad that can handle being in multiple competitions winning the trophy is actually bad for your team's form.

Oh god that's so tinpot. In the old days I would have much rather won a cup than been 2nd in the League. But that's unrealistic now. Unless you are in the top 4 you lose out on money and the best players and that makes future success much less likely.I wouldn't worry about it. Given Poch's attitude to cup competitions, I doubt we'll ever win one while he remains
In charge.
And playing in the Champs League is exciting. Who was not proud to see Tottenham v Real Madrid, or Tottenham v Inter Milan come out of the hat. Those are special nights for me as a supporter. In the old days I would have much rather won a cup than been 2nd in the League. But that's unrealistic now. The best bit is, there's a high chance it won't even be allowed in the ground, most clubs these days won't accept any flags/ banners with insulting language on it, especially one that'll cause a reaction amongst home fans.
I wonder if the guy who got it printed would have the bollocks to walk down Park Lane with it though...
There'll be 3500 people shouting it at the top of their lungs mate. I think he'll be fine.

The agenda is set by the players now. If they want something and aren't getting it then you have departures. Also, the CL income is going to pay off the stadium a lot faster than a win in the League Cup, so Daniel Levy's not going to complain. The game's not about glory any more.
