After 3 replays I really couldn't tell, so I don't know how the linesman was so confident that he can say 100% it was definitely handball.
The referee definately wasn't going to give it until the linesman flagged. I thought the ref was poor overall today - De Ridder and Lambert were being fouled basically every time they got the ball yet the freekick seemed to go the other way?
I was watching on Sky and about 10 mins in, after the constant assaults by Brown on our players the camera focused in on Adkins....Let's just say he wasn't a very happy bunny with the 4th official......
There may have been a tiny bit of contact with Gradel when Cork challenged him but he went over like a sack of potatoes. Never a pen.
im in block 4, and although i didnt have my glasses on (haha) i didnt think it was a penalty at all. but then some blokes around me said they thought it was, so who knows, we'll see around midnight wont we.
In a word... No. It hit his chessssssssttttttttttttttttttt! Shame that it tarnishes Martin's performance as he cost us a clean sheet but at least it wasn't actually his fault, as it wasn't actually a penalty.
doesnt matter really, we won, its three points and how much does goal difference really matter at this point in the season?
This is a good point.. We got 3 points today we scored 3 GOOD goals and had a great first game of the season on sky!!! Bloody winging about a penalty!
Doesn't matter really but I'd be pissed off as a keeper or defender to be robbed of a clean sheet that late in the game and in that manner. Took the gloss off the win for them a bit.
I've watched several replays now and if you watch the first contact is off his chest but it does then touch his arm. However, was not intentional and purley a rebound onto his arm. I felt it was pretty harsh.
Was good to see le tiss on sky at the stadium. No one on Sky said either that hand ball or the Gradel penalty claim were valid. When you look at Gradel he pushes/leaves his leg to brush cork. No way a pen either.
