You could buy a detector for £200 and find stuff. I just had this thing about wanting to search the Roman site with the best machine I can get as I'm sure there must be a few more silver and maybe some gold coins so seeing it was on special offer, went for it.
There's parts of Scotland you could walk around all day long and not get a single find.Wont find any Roman scum coins in Scotland cos we chased them
